Ariel Chobaz seems like a phenomenal mix engineer... unfortunately, I think the music sucks big time. In fact, this is EXACTLY what I feel is wrong with music today. Simplistic and cheesy rhythms, no groove at all, banal and monotone melodies, and no real instruments to be found. I know, that music is subjective and if people like this then fine. I just fear, that young people will grow up without knowing what music is really about. I can't imagine that anyone who hears this tune for the first time will be inspired or intrigued. This is music you like, because you've heard a similar sounding track a million times before. Sorry, for being so crude. I might of course be an old fart who's lost touch with reality, but I have a hard time even calling this junk music.
ОтветитьThe magic is undeniable when such fantastic art is created.
Ответитьdon't want to sound rude or like if i knew everything, but you could have really made this video 3-5 minutes long, very simple way of doing it too. Best stutter technique is Dave Pensados (in my humble opinion) running the reversed vocal sample thru a delay, record the tail and reverse it again, you can get not only better but more creative results i you run that thru an Echoboy for example. Just saying tho, nice vid
ОтветитьMr. Chobaz has a great way of explaining and is a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this Warren! Hope to see more in the future!
ОтветитьHey Warren, I'm about to release my first original song recorded in my home studio (using your advices :D) and i would love to send you the mix for some feedback before i release it! Cheers!
Ответитьwhat song ?
Ответитьsong name
ОтветитьIts cool and all, but this is a little too generic and formular based for me to enjoy truthfully, thisi is the face of music today. Mcdonalds music.
ОтветитьGreat tutorial, but that music makes me want to vomit.
ОтветитьWhen you make "a mi me gusta" (i like it), sound like "mami me gusta" (mommy i like it)
ОтветитьWhat i find a bit confusing, or at least counter-intuitive, is "needing" tens of thousands of bucks worth of microphone (yes, one ), not to mention outboard gear, to record a vocal that's gonna be eq'd and autotuned to all hell - what exactly is the point, i wonder?
ОтветитьHey, i never knew Jar-Jar Binks was a (female) pop artist...
ОтветитьVery cool video Warren and Ariel. I'd be interested in seeing how this work in other genres.
ОтветитьI hope I wake up some day to realize that many brilliant sound engineers are just trolling everyone on the internet by mixing this kind of tunes while keeping a straight face.
ОтветитьI'll be honest, I'm not a fan of the music here (tired of dance music, and to be honest I've never really liked it, it's too "empty" for me). But It's interesting to see the approach, just how far Ariel is pushing the concepts. Thanks Warren and Ariel!
ОтветитьHolding a gun to their head usually makes them stutter and get their lines right.
ОтветитьAh so that's how you do it. Definitely gonna give this a try!
ОтветитьIzotope stutter edit
ОтветитьExcellent video! Thank you.
Ответить"next time you farted, don't come around me..."
ОтветитьMan..his vocals are always so crisp. Is this the m149 through the 1073? I know he uses that on Nicki minaj
Ответитьwonderful video guys thank you warren and ariel
Ответитьpls share the link of the song. Its so catchy
Ответить6th of July, 2018 - why am i still unable to find this song? A mi me gusta makes me jump on my chair
Ответитьdude sounds like Stu from the hangover/andy from the office
ОтветитьSo... Copy paste was the tip! Well thank you for nothing basically.. lol
ОтветитьThats not a stutter effects that im thinking of at all
ОтветитьWhy you people keep using Pro Tools I'll never figure out. You could have done all that and more in Cubase in about 30 seconds.
Ответитьwow. i was listening to monster by ye featuring nicki and heard this exact effect on her and wanted to learn it and i stumble upon nicki's engineer breaking it down lol thanks a lot!
ОтветитьNo offense to your talents but I would eventually shoot myself in the head mixing this type of dance music! Jeez so obnoxious and uninspiring.
ОтветитьFrom selling paper, to becoming a grammy nominated mix engineer. Looks like Andrew Bernard's dream to be famous in music finally came true!
ОтветитьHey man would be great if you added a small video of your keyboard on bottom right when doing these videos I don’t know what type of short cuts your doing or what to press after seeing you click stuff. I am stuck on the sound line part I don’t know how to get those two white dots set to only adjust volume in those sections . And is that green plugin stock? @producelikeapro
ОтветитьBummer. I was hoping for an depth lesson on this "Branded" technique :( this is basically common sense... Warren, your channel is amazing, you are a wealth of knowledge. thank you for all you Give and do!
Ответитьthanks a lot
ОтветитьThanks, Very Nice, God Bless!
ОтветитьThanks a lot 4 posting this
much love from Germany
please make video on vocal mixing how to convert mono vocals into stereo how to use waves mono and stereo plugins?
ОтветитьHe sounds exactly like Ed Helms
ОтветитьGuy sounds like Andrew Bernard from The Office
ОтветитьGoated. I have a newfound understanding of dynamics combined with mix effecrs
Ответитьman said she's a french artist and then the whole track is spanish lmaooooo
ОтветитьYou sound like Andy Bernard
ОтветитьWhat is the name of the song and artist? PS: great tutorial
ОтветитьThat wasn't' bad...It wasn't what I was expecting at all. But an interesting perspective.
ОтветитьAm i the only one here who's a rock (nü metal) musician here? I'm really interested in vocal chops and vocal sample in general and it makes my music more bouncy and techy lol,thx for the lesson bro!!👍👍👍
ОтветитьCool video. All I could think of while listening was, "Is this Ed Helms talking?"
ОтветитьHi Friends, Ariel Chobaz is a Grammy nominated mix engineer that has worked with Drake, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and Justin Bieber. He's a master of mixing interesting and tasteful vocal effects that keep listeners engaged. In this video, Ariel shows you how to create a great sounding stutter effect that he's used all over songs he's mixed for Nicki Minaj! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
