I always hated that fruit. Now I hate it more.
ОтветитьI find it quite ridiculous that someone can patent or copyright fruit. This isn't capitalism, it's outright greed. First water, then fruits.
ОтветитьIll grow whatever kiwi i want
ОтветитьNo matter what it is, Nor where it is, The chinese have probably stolen and mass produced it
ОтветитьToo many crossbreeds and hybrids are steering towards more sweet. We're losing flavor for sweetness.
If the plants are true to seed and you grow your own seeds, good for you!
Green still last longer and taste better
ОтветитьPeople defo going to get seeds and start growing it. In countries where trademark doesn't matter
ОтветитьCopywrite, Patents & trademarks and Restricted legal marks are one of the biggest things that harm humanity.
Ответить27 years old and grew up in the US. They always offered them in school, but i never gave them a chance cause it looked nasty. Then when i turned 22 i became a kiwi addict for a month. I was only stopped from eating more cause of that fuzzy numbing feeling you get from too much. I'm looking for sour fruit get that sweet kiwi tf out my fave
ОтветитьCopyrighting plants is probably one of the most evil things corporations have ever done. I only grow plants under the OSSI (Open Seed Source Initiative) where they are uncopyrightable. Also I support stealing and growing "copyrighted" food. Power to the people!
ОтветитьI love kiwi, but I've only tried golden kiwi once and the day I got it from the store, they were bad, they had started to ferment. Never got them again, but honestly not sure if I would like them as much cause I love the tangy taste of regular kiwi and dont think I want a softer fruit.
ОтветитьWait, so what exactly is copyrighted here? They didn't re-engineer the DNA did they?
ОтветитьFull of sugar
ОтветитьOk what if I hypotheticaly took a seed a grown it in a different continent in a 3rd world country and then sold there am I safe from the legal issues
ОтветитьThe idea of owning an entire variety of a plant is absurd. Especially if it originated from China, or any other foreign country; "we took your plant, but how dare you take our plant we made from it?". That on top of the limited supply intentionally made to keep prices high, it's no wonder why there are illegal orchards popping up.
Ответитьdamn pickers still exist ? i thought abraham lincoln banned that stuff
ОтветитьIs this a Good thing, a Company that can control the DNA of One Plant can Hold the World Hostage?? The Real success of Farming is how the Community shares it knowledge , all in the Hope to Feed the World. Now is a " Copy Right's " Nightmare... Why are we Wanting to Drive up Food prices when so many Starve these Days.... Its Greed... Pure Greed and Power over Others.... That is what you call a Monopoly!!!!
ОтветитьLet's not forget about how Monsanto went down the track and ended up as a huge pile of train wrecks. Putting a strain of life under copyright laws is just a one-way trip to a dystopian mess. What if some entities put a breed of animals under the copyright laws?
ОтветитьMama let’s grow are own kiwi🧌
Ответитьits a bit, let's say greedy to take a fruit that was originated elsewhere (which frankly even that doesn't matter) and copywrite it as if cross pollination means you own nature i understand the controversy but in the video they are specifically talking about golden kiwi's that are labeled zespri because if it grown elsewhere its a different variant
ОтветитьAnti Monopoly laws should apply. Throw down these intalectual property Monopoly dictatorships.
ОтветитьI'm going to grow their kiwis now.....
ОтветитьScrew copyright laws. Let's grow it anyway.
ОтветитьYou can grow them to eat, you just can’t sell them. THATS is how the rules work. You can’t make a profit, that’s illegal
Ответить"It’s Illegal To Grow This Kiwi"
All the cannabis growers not even batting an eyelid.
In reality though, if it is more expensive than normal kiwis, I'm not buying it, and those doing so are what we call "mugs".
F**k copyrigh! Public domain! F**kin greedy corporate bastards!
Ответитьimagine copy writing a fruit . wonderfull times . lazy times as ppl said in 2060
Ответитьprefer the green one
ОтветитьI'm from the states and the kiwis are small, probably the size of an egg. When I see them the size of a potato, thats awesome 😍
Ответитьif i put my hand in one of these i will definitely plant all the seeds, i don't give a shit
ОтветитьMmm... symmetrical, oversweet industrial kiwi.
ОтветитьHonestly I think this video demonstrates so many problems we have with the supermarket produce industry. The whole thing is unsustainable.
ОтветитьWell Well Well
ОтветитьI live in the US and my kids love golden kiwis.
ОтветитьJust like old forms of media I think the copyright on foods should only be fifty years.....
ОтветитьHow about we just dont respect it? Copyrighting a fruit is just sad, and invalid in terms of national interest.
ОтветитьThis felt like a really long ad
Ответитьyou can copyright anything
ОтветитьI think every single copyrighted plant should be boycoted mass producing it intentionally so they dont know who to sue, it is bullshit
ОтветитьThe reason they're expensive - a bunch of bs.
ОтветитьIn New Zealand we call them "Kiwifruit" not "Kiwis"
ОтветитьAs someone who was part of the stage 2 clonal teams that developed/tested these and many other kiwi fruit types. Zespri owns the licence but plant and food research developed the strands. The initial gold was invented by a really nice man called Russell many years ago and those seeds were further refined and cross bread to cultivate other different strains. It's so expensive to get a licence because it usually takes 7-10 years for multiple scientific teams to create, develop, grow and test a single strain/type/cultivar but the gold 2 was released early because of the extreme detrimental effects of PSA on grower orchards. The development expense is very high requiring multiple scientific teams from breeders to clonal testers over multiple large testing orchards in several climate and elevation locations and zespri also requires a profit. A mountain of precision work by many many people over many years has gone into creating this single fruit. Hats off to all the hard work prior to even being released to growers and the scientific funding by zespri to allow it to happen.
ОтветитьI'm having a hard time with the ethics here... 1) Grab Kiwis from China, grow them here = free... 2) Golden Kiwis evolve, Chinese take them back = Must pay...
Thus, what must be paid for, is the work which was put in to the fruit to evolve it. Even if the actual people who did the work are no longer around. & the people growing the new kiwis didn't bring the seeds themselves.
By that logic, shouldn't the descendants of slaves be given what their ancestors worked for to create?
Logic & ethics can't make sense, only when it benefits one self, right?
me when i claim ownership over other literal biology
ОтветитьSo.. i bought the fruit. the fruit had seeds in it. I plant the seeds. But now it's illegal with this one fruit? nah lmao.. saying you can sue me over planting a fruit sounds more illegal.
ОтветитьGreen kiwi gang >>
ОтветитьHad a box of these yellow kiwis last month, I have to say the green kiwis are more visually appealing but the yellow ones are sweeter with less fur, I also had something called August Kiwis when I stayed in the Ritz Carlton hotel, those kiwis where large and sweet yellow, the skin was edible too so no need to peel it! it was wonderful.
Ответитьthats why the ones i grow myself i keep to myself. wtf. ive been growing goldens forever. my nan showed me how to tend em. god rest her soul. best in auckland.
ОтветитьWhat fertilizer do they use?
Ответитьyeah, I am gonna grow it, I don't care
Ответить
