I got my M140i (with 130.000 km on the clock at that time) to ZF in Delfgauw (the Netherlands) for a thorough service of the transmission. I did the same with my previous BMW's with ZF automatic transmissions, but in Dortmund those previous times. As my M140i had some 130.000 km already and I sometimes felt some hesitations and quirky shifts, I reckoned it was time to have it serviced.

As I understand, at ZF they do the following: new transmission oil pan (with new magnetic oil filters), Mechatronic removed + opened + cleaned, transmission flush with new oil, software reset, new oil again and then a new driving in sequence.

This video shows the biggest improvement whilst city driving (verrry gentle on the loud pedal): where my M140i upshifted at only 1500 to even 1800 rpm (sometimes) and thus the revs never fell down below 1300-1400ish rpm after upshift, now it's upshifting a LOT sooner. (win n.1)
Moreover, the hesitation the could be felt sometimes on modulated throttle (low rpm), where you'd feel the software wants the transmission to shift up but somewhere in the hardware there's a "no you don't" decision (in the Mechatronic?), that's completely gone too. (win n.2)
