You literally skipped all of the other important events, such as the Boston Massacre, the Boston Tea Party, the propaganda, the Intolerable Acts, the Quartering Act, etc.

Centuries later, we implemented the income and property tax.

Which they should've paid the fucking tax because they OWED Britain for that. 7 years to protect their ungrateful asses.

And the 7 years war started because of the French and Indian war and the French and Indian war started because a 21 year old first-time commander attacked and killed a French diplomatic envoy at the Forks. That commander's name was George Washington.

Not only taxes but the fact that the British were overseeing the loading of ships, setting up customs houses and patrolling the harbors. The Americans wanted to trade and do business with the Dutch.

The colonies were asked by Parliament to pay reparations for the total costs of the Seven Years War. However, that war raged across the colonies and Europe. When the colonies offered to only pay for the costs of the French-Indian War (the portion of the Seven Years War that was fought in the Americas), Parliament refused the offer and resorted to taxes and fees on all goods bought from Britain while banning inter-colony trade (which would have been far less expensive for the colonists).

Yeah and the tax was less than 4%. Today government: let's tax the rich. Definition of rich by government anyone making 50k. Definition of poor people those who make less than 10k. Billionaire: I take out loans and don't make any money that's just money for my foundation which I control and it pays for my food, trips, house, cars and everything else but we give 100k to charity instead of paying 150 million a year in taxes.

I feel like you should've mentioned the term "solitary neglect" as well as other emotion-drawing instances for their own reasons: The Boston Massacre: Shows us who the enemy is, uniting us in the process; Common Sense - pamphlet by Thomas Paine, called the monarchy in Britain into question, challenging the current system; etc etc. Otherwise, this is a pretty well made video for its length.

As a super oversimplified reason yeah, but if you read “Strictures upon the Declaration of Independence” Hutchinson points out that they were really just looking for any reasona

Also, disarming, abolition of courts, abolition of local governments, imposing troops upon the citizens in the colonies during peacetime, completely ruining the legal system, refusing to protect the borders, and theblist goes on.

Saying the Colonies rebelled because just taces is like saying WW2 happened because people didn't like Hitler. It leaves out more than half of the reasons.
