No matter what I do. I perform like a 20 yo but look like an old fart, what a shame.
Ответить1.Warm up
2.quality of reps
3.slow reps
4.metabolic training
5.jump the fences around
..... Watch this video full....its really good😅
65 here
ОтветитьThe cardio part was right on target to me. I love a good walk in the park, but I’ll spare my running as 50s are coming.
ОтветитьWatched this qt 33 will come back in 7 years to this video and see how it went. Liked the part on varying the cardio
ОтветитьGirls over 40! Please just title your video "people over 40" hehe. I prefer to focus on my own life than this nomenclature bullshit. I'm still following you. I changed to the 100 effective reps program and it is a killer.
ОтветитьLove your videos! Thank You for the push and support
ОтветитьI'm 55. Post Bells Palsy and have chronic fatigue. I'm working out since 3 month (never worked out really) and gained almost 20 pounds of muscle. But totally overdid it so now am fighting shoulder issues and tendenomuscular pains in arms and around shoulder.
Your advice is well taken! I will do as you recommended. Great videos!
Should also mention the importance of stretching. Especially as you get older.
ОтветитьHelpful tip everybody... I am 57 years old and the best form of cardio on the planet is trampolining. I outdoor trampoline every week through all the seasons (live in CT) and there is NOTHING else like it. The health benefits of trampolining are too numerous to list (you can Google them yourself). Heck, even NASA completed an exhaustive study (astronauts trampoline after space missions as it is the only exercise that rebuilds bone density). You'll also be happy to hear that muscle gains come much faster when trampolining is part of your routine. Check out ACON for the best trampolines in the world and avoid the stuff sold at major retailers.
ОтветитьI'm 70 and guilty as charged, turn warmups into workouts.Had to accept dumbbell weight had to come down.
ОтветитьCalm down. You always shouting 🤣
ОтветитьHe is only 44 in this video?!? I’m 54…..Jeff needs to come get some info from me….
ОтветитьMy favorite take away is controlled strength
ОтветитьI feel that I owe you for all the free info you give. For now I will give you a thank you, a like, and a share.
ОтветитьI’m a 60 year old female and really appreciate these tips
Especially, not turning cardio into a workout before weight training- which would leave me too tired to do all my strength training.
👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьI used to be able to do deadlifts but now it causes back strain so I don’t do them anymore. I am 45 years old. I want to make a body transformation.
Ответить“Do not become one dimensional”. ‘ jump, climb, scale, land’. “If you don’t use it, you’ll lose it”. GOT IT.
At 51 my body is telling me ‘no’ every day; I must respond with a strong ‘yes’.
I'm 69, always did a mix of actual sports & training, but slowed down, softened up & gained some weight in last 5 yrs. Got back to it after learning I might need a heart valve (on hold, yay). These videos have been invaluable. Changed my diet (it wasn't terrible, but the crap at the margins matters), downloaded an app for accountability. The mind-body connection can't be over-stated. I have injuries to work around (like probably everyone). Lost 35 lbs. Can now do half-dozen strict pullups and 8-10 dips, despite a bad shoulder. Very informative & motivational stuff. Thanks.
ОтветитьI've been watching Jeff and learning from him for years, but now that I'm 43 I'm revisiting his videos like this one and seeing how right he is. And I like that Jeff has done the work, and knows what's real and worth your time. I've had lots of trial and error in my 25 years of lifting and fitness, and everything Jeff is saying is ringing 100% true! I've never seen him endorse snake oil, or some new product of the month. Rock on, Jeff.
ОтветитьI've just turned 40 yo and discovered my heart is struggling with some arrhythmia possibly due to a combination of too much intensive exercise and poor sleeping habits. I've been in my best shape since I was 20/21 yo, but now I have to decrease the intensity and frequency of strength and aerobic workouts. As said in the video, I'll hear my body and focus on the quality of each rep as well as avoid doing to much long runs (1x/week) . Great video! Thanks for all the important advice!
ОтветитьHas this guy slowed down his talk? That’s good, though he’s got so much to say, I really don’t want to watch super long videos.
I’m really loving this channel. I’m so old that I have no qualms with … starting epic journeys casually. I’ve become a thing that can do things everyday without thinking much about them. It’s been valuable, but I’m hoping to tighten up my game and my body.
I don’t compute rest days, but I’m really trying.
I really like this channel. The dude is pretty great. I intensified the stair climbing I do, and I got more out of 100 flights than I ever have before. I think that was from another video. It’s cool that I can do 100 and make it feel like I did 200 plus. It’s probably easier on my knees. Good stuff.
Thank you
Ответить55 now, been training now since my early 30's. Although this info isn't new to me, it's a great refresher and helps to keep my training in perspective. Although there are times when life gets in the way and the training routine dwindles, that is no excuse to leave it all behind. Better to get back into it than not ever do it again.
ОтветитьIt's incredible that I am doing all of this already and I am 38. If I didn't learn anything, I learned I am going down the right path... peace of mind is nice :)
ОтветитьJust started training for the first time since high school I believe, I am 50, thank you for your work.
ОтветитьThanks Jeff. I am in my 70s and just started training. Wish I had started years ago. Thanks for all your great advice
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьPlease 🙏🏿 I want to be your student I have home gym please train me online from India i m your very old fan
ОтветитьHow did hernia situation turn out? Have you had second hernia surgically repaired?
ОтветитьLet’s get it
ОтветитьGreetings from Italy bro! thx a lot for your video!
ОтветитьI'm definitely over 40. I warm up for bench press by starting with about 40 pounds on the bar and a heat pack on each pec. 🙂 It's gotta be pretty warm weather to stop me using the heat packs.
ОтветитьI'm 46 most days I run to the gym and back. Best thing I did was give up booze.
ОтветитьGreat video 👍 37 yrs old now and 40 is approaching fast. Definitely need to warm up properly now. Still feeling and looking 25 😜
ОтветитьThis is totally on the money! I'm 76 (that's right) BUT I LOOK like I'm around 60-people tell that on a regular basis- a YOUNG LOOKING 60! I'm fit enough to do 100 sit ups in 90sec, 40 push-ups in a minute and can run a 50 yrd dash 6.8 secs. I'v got this now because I've been training my body for strength and endurance all my life. I've a very nutritious diet- I eat 4 smaller portions 4 times a day from 0630 to 0700.
Guys, great diet and a consistent and well designed workout will reap wonders. Things take time, give it a year, and be patient and consistent!!!
Sets of 8-10 have me back to growth @37yo where sets of 5-6 has been causing me a decline since age 36. I'm glad I changed because low reps was beating me up and killing my gains.
ОтветитьSpare your PRIDE. Thank you!
ОтветитьI cant do any of the thing's that put stress on my knees or ill be stuck in bed for days
ОтветитьHonestly, all of this is great but the real game-changer for me has nothing to do with macros or strict training regimens, it has everything to do with remembering to smile and enjoy what I'm doing.
ОтветитьI've stopped watching this guy's videos because I'm not exactly learning anything. I'm 41 years old and I realized the stuff he is coming out with is just basic common knowledge
ОтветитьI'm 47 and instead of just hitting the weights ive included kettlebells and resistance bands. Huge benefit. Its helped me in a big way. Altered my diet and lost 73 lbs in just under a year and a half.
ОтветитьYou take a sensible approach to changing strategy for strength training at any age 👍👏
ОтветитьI am over 40 years old and I only started lifting (moderate) weights since my late 20s. I never really aimed for a “body-builder” physique, but I managed to maintain a healthy (recreational half-marathon runner’s weight) of 155 lbs (I’m only 5’8). Now that I am no longer running as much and hoping to gain 10 lbs (mainly by eating three meals a day), I asked my physio-therapist some advise on how to gain more muscles since my body never really changed much in the last 10 years despite my consistency with exercising. My physio-therapist replied, “you managed to maintain your body that long and you don’t think that’s a gain? Just keep doing what you’re doing, and yes, please eat three meals a day” 😅
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьAlways inspiring and tells me I am wasting time and my works outs
