From the video, it appears the officers did nothing wrong. They weren't abusive and they tried to help him with an ambulance. I think he died from the stress of the incident..

Oh my poor heart. I've worked with the Elderly for 15 years. This hurt to watch.
Hit and Run is not good by any means, but in my opinion, this poor man gave himself so much stress from the situation, his heart couldn't take it. With his age, he most likely has a DNR. Even if he was in police custody, I hope no one blames the officers.

This was one of the more kind interactions instead of acting like he acting.

I believe his heart stopped on that road. They aren't allowed to resuscitate him with a DNR.
They do have his medical info by name and DOB for the paramedics.

And going by this video, I don't blame the police officers at all for this.

Whatever he was experiencing, it was probably a significant contributing factor in the crash and was probably the reason for his unawareness of the crash.

This is heartbreaking! Watching him ask somebody to speak to him and they all stand there and don't even act like he's a human being was Was probably 1 of the most heartbreaking things I've seen in a very long time! We really are too have a police deal with the elderly in a different fashion this is not okay and I pray for him in his family Rest in peace

I thought Franklin died in route to the hospital or at the hospital. Police immediately gave him care once he started getting sick.

I feel like the officers did what was right, especially in that second situation. They asked if he had medical issues, removed the cuffs when they realized something was very wrong and even put him the "recovery position" as they waited for EMS. They did ALL the right things. I feel like the narrative of this video is an attempt to shine a bad light on the LEOs involved but in fact, it does the exact opposite. They did what they were trained to do and showed compassion.

There was no disrespect to the elderly man. However there was a certain disrespect for the new officer.

he should have been taken to the hospital right away instead of being made to sit on the curb like he's 20 or something. Wow. Abviously he was having some type of episode which made him hit that car. They should have called an ambulance right away. I watch yall shows all the time and before this video I loved how the police act and protect, now I have absolutely NO RESPECT for the police. Especially not dallas. It's save to say I'll never move to Dallas.

They should’ve been blowing up medics if one of them had got hurt medics would’ve been there immediately. The one police officer just smirking, laughing as he’s drinking the water.

70 years old!!! Don’t they realize his age may have something to do with this. Dementia, Alzheimer’s and other medical issues cause these kind of things. He probably legitimately thought he didn’t hit them.

When they asked what kind of medical history he has and then the video get silent. The officer said well that's unfortunate! It's his privacy I get it but I think he was in medical crisis before he even hit the car. Maybe a heart attack?
