you mention Anthony Perkins as Norman Bates; Vince Vaughan was much more like the book.
Humphrey Bogart as Sam Spade or Philip Marlowe.
How about any number of actors too old for the role?: PRIDE AND PREJUDICE (1940), GREAT EXPECTATIONS(1946)
You didn't mention any recent Disney movies. That would have invited a very entertaining comment section.
ОтветитьThey could’ve kept Elena as a selfish Queen Bee and given her great character development like Caroline. Lmao really screwed Elena’s character up imo cuz I wasn’t rooting for her at all 😂😂
Ответитьregarding #4 they sure did talk about how JLaw was healthy in a post apocalyptic world, fast forward 6 years and NO ONE including this channel would DARE say a bad word abotu Abby Anderson looking like Brock Lesnar in The Last of Us 2
ОтветитьAntonio Banderas as Armand in Interview with the Vampire. Auburn hair and angelic features are not what one thinks of when they see Antonio. Don't get me wrong, he's a good looking guy, just doesn't fit.
ОтветитьEmma Watson was a terrible choice for Hermione and it’s zero to do with the look, and everything to do with the god awful acting skills… shocking
ОтветитьBiggest change: Lily Potter had green eyes but the child actress had dark brown! All thru the book, it’s mentioned Harry has his mother’s green eyes..also Ron is written as tall and lanky with a long nose.
ОтветитьThe Absolute Worst was Tom Cruise as Lestat!!! He was Rutger Hauer - not the Pipsqueak Cruise!!!
ОтветитьThe whole cast of Percy Jackson should have been included, cuz honestly, those movies sucks! (Not the actors’ fault obviously )
ОтветитьChloe grace moretz in Carrie
ОтветитьHermione in the first HP movie is actually close enough to how she is described. Harry Potter himself though... ugh.
ОтветитьAnya Taylor-Joy in “The Queen’s Gambit”. Beth is described as the ugliest white girl ever when Anya is a futuristic beauty you will never forget that face she’s beautiful.
ОтветитьHollywood will always choose classic good looks over literary accuracy 😂
ОтветитьI read all the Pretty Little Liars books and the first four Vampire Diaries books and I often joke the only thing they kept the same was the character names
ОтветитьI like Elena in the TV show better than the book because in the book she is a terrible person
ОтветитьLily is the best Clary I stand by it
Ответить“Dedarrio won them over with her on screen presence.”
Anyone who has met a Percy Jackson fan ever: 🥴
Seriously though, most book fans I’ve met (and I grew up in the PJO fandom) hated her as Annabeth BECAUSE they didn’t feel like she embodied the role of Annabeth- not because of how she looked. The movies are horrible adaptations, and honestly, the only part of the movie that arguably “won over” book fans, is the Lotus Casino fans.
Oh well, the differences are there for Claries character in the wall instruments movie, when I first saw the description of this video, my mind immediately turned to Dominic Sherwood, portrayal of Jace in the TV series. The description is a lot different than what they did with his features, and I remember People being slightly annoyed about it as well as a lot of other effects that they put on the TV show different from above.
ОтветитьTom Cruise & Stuart Townsend as Lestat should've been on this list :)
ОтветитьI think Jenny from Gossip girl was supposed to have a resemblance to Blair not Serena
ОтветитьHitchcock knew what he was doing. 🎉
ОтветитьWell Grere Garson played Elizabeth Bennett in 1940. And she was also beautiful. I liked Knightly version. She was very pretty, but it was an enjoyable adaptation
ОтветитьHamish MacBeth, while very good, looks nothing like he is described in the book.
ОтветитьI always thought Lily Collins resembled Clary Fray really well!! In that film I think she was one of the best cast looks wise
ОтветитьCatriona Balfe as Clare in outlander. Clare in the book was of average height for a woman in 1945 which was 5 ft 3in and when she stood next to Jamie Frazer her head rested on the curve between his chest as he was a good foot taller than her. Catriona is 6ft tall and her height distracted from how tall Jamie was. It was their daughter Brianna that hit close to 6ft tall
ОтветитьFor me, it’s Kenneth Branagh as Poirot. He looks nothing like Poirot. Poirot is meant to have an egg-shaped face and a rounder belly. And don’t get me started on that moustache.
ОтветитьNone of these dont even come clisecto how f...ked up the "little mermaid " was
ОтветитьNone of these dont even come close to how f..cked up the "little mermaid " s actress in live action was
ОтветитьTrue bloods Eric is written as an enormous viking, thinking more of Chris Hemworth. Alexander Skaagard is handsome but he did not match the book
ОтветитьSO if a white person playing a non white character is " whitewashing "... is a non white person playing a white character called " blackwashing " ? :D
Ответить😊
ОтветитьEmma as Hermione was fine.
She was bushy haired and you could imagine she grew out of it. I mean her hair wasn’t bushy but other than that she had the character down perfect.
Lily as Clary was ok.
It said red kinda auburn hair not carrot red. She’s exactly who’d I would imagine and I’ve read the books like 20 times.
Pretty Little Liars
I don’t mind the changes. I love Shay.
Some diversity was needed.
Nina as Elena was great.
ОтветитьI absolutely love Emma Stone, but I never think of her as a classic beauty. It's partly why she's so great in her roles. When her personality comes out her eyes and smile transform her pleasant looks into beauty. I get caught up in her characters and think, look how beautiful she's become in this moment!
ОтветитьEmma Watson looks so much like my sister (just after me in birth order) did as a young girl. So I was happy with the choice.
ОтветитьElisabeth Bennett isn't described as ugly, she's just described as less beautiful that Jane (who is very very beautiful). One sentence at the end of the book even say that mary is the only one of the bennett sisters who isn't beautiful. So keira knightley doesn't seem that bad? M.Darcy described a lot her beautiful black eyes, that she has.
ОтветитьTom Cruise as Lestat. A world apart.
ОтветитьIn my personal opinion, Robert Pattinson was NOT as hot as Edward Cullen was pictured in the book.
Also, in the "Let The Right One In" book, Oskar was portraited differently than the movie one..
Armand in Interview with the vampire. Lestat and Louis were also kind of switched but that was mostly fixed with hair and makeup, Armand was supposed to be a teenage boy with red hair and they casted Antonio Banderas.
ОтветитьBecause I would like there to be a live-action adaptation of Pax by Walden Media, would Freddie Highmore, Jane Lynch, and Mandy Patinkin fit the book descriptions of Peter, his grandfather, and Vola?
ОтветитьChristopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV - Dune part 2 (even though Walken was close to 80 when he was cast in 2022, the character in the book is described to look in his 30s but is actually 70 years older)
ОтветитьI gotta second Morgan Freeman as Red... they even left in the line from the book "maybe it's because I'm Irish" as an Easter egg...
And along those lines, Denzel as Don Pedro in Branagh's Much Ado... Branagh had a major habit of casting really good actors that didn't look like the book and did brilliantly anyway... Cleese playing a straight role in Frankenstein.. Idris Elba in Thor... taking the title role for himself in three Hercule Poirot films... Nonso Anozie in Cinderella...
You missed Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher
ОтветитьWill MoJo do a “black washing” of characters since they have a “white washing” category? I think if you have an actor no matter what their skin color, height, and other physical characteristics are, how they portray the character is all that matters. Take for example Morgan Freeman in Shawshank Redemption.
ОтветитьAmazon's hot mess, the Wheel of Time totally misses the mark in nearly every casting.
ОтветитьPretty much the majority of the cast from Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
Ответить
