Only thing that sucks about this game is that you can't experience it for the first time again.

This game looks crazy cool, also way to sneak in the Uncertainty Principle along with the Double-slit Experiment if explained a bit oddly.

This is the only game I've ever played that is so f***ing good it retroactively makes me hate the game because I can't play more of it.

I got about halfway through and had enough.

I have to ask: was I the only person here who didn’t “get it”? When I set for the eye I was still filled with the hope that I would find a solution there to save everyone! I still believed this was the eye’s plan all along. That it would all come together somehow. I only realized when all the traveller’s we’re gathered one last time for a round of music that this was goodbye…

I love how outer wilds has so much stuff about traversing the quantum moon and getting it to orbit the eye, and when you finally get it to do so, you can't even leave the moon and trying to do so just sends it back to one of the other planets, which basically mirrors what the nomai tried to do.

What I love, is when I first found out about the Sun Station, my mind immediately said that the Nomai were to blame for the sun exploding, but it never felt right with all the characterisation of the nomai as these intelligent, kind and methodical beings, when I realised that it wasn’t their fault, it felt soul-crushing but also gratifying to know that the lovely goat people were just scientists

Fun fact, if you maneuver yourself correctly you can actually orbit around the black hole in brittle hollow and avoid falling in, you can even get yourself back up to the "surface"

A game you can only experience once. Or if you want to have at least a little bit more then the only way is to infect someone confince another person to play it and watch their walkthrough empathizing their joy of discovery.

what is so great about this game is that instead of markers and objectives, the game guides the player through their own curiosity that is fed with subtle clues and hints as you explore places you got to... well, with your curiosity

Never been a fan of "you can only play through this once" types of games. This is one of them. Love the story, setting, and what goes on. But once you beat it, that's it. There's no point in picking it up and playing it anymore.

Honestly, the real horror is that in each loop the current Hatchling is essentially still going to die. Once we/the Hatchling realizes that they are trapped in a timeloop, a loop/life may feel like expedient. But thats not true. This version of the Hatchling isnt actually going to live and experience the next loop. They are going to die, no matter what. They can only learn and help a future version of themselves in a "future loop", by passing the memories forward.

The only time this isnt true is if we go into the ATP blackhole at the end of the loop. Then this version of the Hatchling will also experience the next loop, but that will come with its own set of problems :D

Therefore, we, as the player, arent experiencing the experiences of each Hatchlings loop, we are experiecing only the memories/experience of the very last Hatchling who will make it to the eye of the universe. If we were to play from the perspective of a single loop/Hatchling, then we would have to end and delete the game after the Hatchling dies (which may be after the supernova if we decide to fly far enough away and eventually starve in interstellar space).

This game is a nightmare because its how I discovered I have a debilitating fear of space.
I saw that blackhole for the first time and was so genuinely, viscerally terrified that I parked my character in a corner and shut my eyes as real genuine tears of fear rolled down my cheeks. The first time I fell into it I had not yet made the connection in my brain between it and the white hole and I was having a panic attack over what cosmic horror I was about to be greeted by only to be pooped out on the other side of the map without my ship, hyperventilating.

I never finished the game.

Also, I did jump when I first got to the brittle hollow warp (it was my first warp usage). Suffice to say my boyfriend was laughing his head off whilst I was even more confused than I ever had been (I really struggled to remember the pattern meant you could walk on it xD)

I watched this video a while back and now have come back to properly appreciate it having completed the game and the DLC. Don't worry, I forgot enough about it beforehand to still have a really enjoyable experience (minus the anglerfish. I hate the anglerfish.)
