Its really not ice cream. Its frozen dessert. Ice cream has to have a certain percentage of milk to be called ice cream.

stars and stripes sodas at DT have aspartame in them. The company doesn't say they're "diet" bc they'd have to go thru FDA vetting/testing again. I buy Mini Spooner's cereal. I ear them as a snack wo milk. They've got more powered sugar than Frosted mini Wheats. They now sell Silver City brand cheese.... it's made in Silver City, NV. It's real cheeses, and $1.00 per 6oz. So it's $3.00 gets 1lb 2oz. The proper jack is very good. And there's nowhere I can find 1 lb for less than $5.00 The orange sherbet and raspberry sherbet are good. Spring rolls, chicken tenders, and the straight cut fries are good. Those fries are $1.00/2lbs. Can't get them that cheap anywhere else, I don't think. Flour tortillas, canned refried beans, small packages of velveta cheese, real feta, the boxed milk is non-gmo and the chocolate milk is really good. Frozen cream puffs, Jamaican jerk chicken pasties are good and spicy. In the summer you can get spices in larger containers for the same buck...I always get my Brooklyn Rye bread at DT...

Drinks, a few spices is about all i buy. I have to be careful with preservatives. So that pretty much leaves out most dollar tree foods. Buywho buy cheese that wont melt? I wont risk my health on food just because its cheap.

I keep the $ Tree chewy honey and oatmeal granola bars in my drawer at work, instead of candy for a more filling sweet treat than a candy bar. Spicey peanuts (bags) and some M&Ms mixed together make a quick trail mix. Dad's Root Beer! They're carrying it most of the time, now!! I buy the boxes of the regular tea for my Sun tea jar refrigerator tea (safer than in the sun). Bags are smallish, but work well and that's 10 jars,for $1. I use 10 bags, plus one or two flavored tea bags per jar (one peach and one mint tea bag is my current 😙 blend)

the frozen eggrolls & dumplings r good seams cheaper than supermarket they used 2 se 18 med eggs 4 a buck not any more boohoo snack cakes r bad use 2 have a frozen mex meal was great not anymore the frozen little entrees r worth it i like the little 5oz frozen supreme red baron pizza just enuff 2 eat 2 so u dont pig out and eat the whole pizza i add extra sausage or pepperoni some olive oil 2them they have had 1time stuf like this no name brand of already cooked sausage best i ever had so flavorful yes their cheese from mex tasted funny so i never buy it many things have high fructose corn syrup in it i don't buy those items

I've never seen most of that stuff at my Dollar Tree. They don't even have a frozen or refrigerated section.

One thing I do recommend is the tuna snack kits. They're often better tasting and cheaper than the ones elsewhere.

Few stores will keep expired items around. If someone buys something that's bad they are hesitant to go back to that store again.

Just an FYI on meat, (or any refrigerated/freezer items).
You mentioned them being left out, maybe at the checkout, if someone changes their mind or something?
This happens at ALL stores, not just the DT.
I am NOT recommending the meat or cheese by any means but being left out you have to be careful of everywhere.
Again, NOT recommending it but smaller stores probably get items back to refrigerated/freezer cases quicker than the huge Super Stores.

Frozen Mexican & Chinese foods are totally great. The Salisbury steak w/ mashed potatoes ditto. These are all $1.00 & microwaveable. Cheap easy meals.

if you're looking for food at DT the meats are good. One tradition my family has is to go DT buy 4 packs of their chicken(2 packs we cook with crab other 2 to catch crab) and head to the bay and we take the 4-6 pieces of chicken and crab with them then we take the 2 clean packs of chicken and cook on up the crab and chicken the food taste great and if you need something to do with the fams it is really good for a summer day and usually with the 2 packs of chicken we catch about 10-12 crabs so you can freeze the crabs for another day we get about 1 bucket full each time now think about that your getting about 40 dollars in crab and you only spent 2 plus you can cook and freeze the crab for later like in the fall and winter and you also have a good time don't be afraid of their chicken because theirs nothing bad about it. Their pork chops, steak, and fish aren't bad either but the steak is very thin. I usually make a cheese steak with the steak and with the fish i make fried fish and it's amazing and the pork chops i make with green beans and mash potatoes. I do buy all these foods from a&p stop and shop and aldi also and they all taste the same but the steak ofc is thicker. also watch out for sales at super markets I bought about 90-100 pounds of steak for around 150 but that's enough for a year for a big family like mine we just store it in our food freezer or deep freeze. also the snacks in dollar tree are great but at aldi you get some really good things their also in general most foods at dollar tree are good. the cheese is terrible tho if you're looking to save money on that just go aldi the cheese and slice cheese taste like krafts cheese. just a few tips if you wanna eat like a king but save that money. we have money my family because they are doctors but we rather use our money we save to help feed other people instead of wasting more money on name brand food for our self when we can get same quality for less because in the end of the day we eat well and you can help out people in need and they eat well also or you can keep your money and just save it for luxury stuff. I say it's better to spend money on others or on name brand shoes and clothes because you poop the food out for same quality as cheaper food but clothes and shoes you use more than once and it's a good buy but I wouldn't say buy for the brand either in clothes buy for the material and quality.

I just made a fruit smoothie in a blender with Jennifer's Garden Tropical Blend Sun Ripened Quick Frozen Fruits from Dollar Tree. I was drinking it thru a straw and when it got to the bottom, there was a chunk of product which clogged the straw so I turned the glass up and drank it. Thinking the "chunk" was a piece of fruit, it turned out to be a marble sized ball of fiberglass fiber...which means I blended some portion in the drink and drank it and this piece did not get blended. It is a product of Vietnam so, BEWARE!!!

I always buy the name brand pretzels. Reg price over $3, can't beat it for $1.

Years ago (I'm guessing overstock from another store?) My dollar tree in st. Aug sold refridgerated single meal packages of some really good quality shit. I forgot the name! Ex: organic quinoa, sweet potato, kale, with spices. I snatched a bunch up when I was in college. Packages like that go for $5 at any other store.

I love getting the frozen veggies, fruit, and salmon (wild caught, no dye). Per unit it's the same as bulk price!

I've only tried the chicken a few times with no issue because there tends to be better deals elsewhere for bigger packages. The seafood though is the bomb, I always get it. Never an issue. Not only that, at least at my store, they aren't from china, are wild caught and no dyes. Wild caught seafood usually has no dyes and no antibiotics, BUT be aware that they can be smaller in size and higher in mercury levels. Also new data shows micro plastics appear in wild caught seafood:(

My favorite kind of ice cream tho to get at the DT is the blue bunny or M&M cookie sandwiches 😍 they are so good and definitely worth the buck!
Also they have an ice cream cooler at the front of the store and some in the back too.
