This guy sleeps 11 hours
ОтветитьThis is cringe. Wearables are over.
ОтветитьOn which area of ur wrist should u wear ur Apple Watch Ultra, how far away from you wrist bone ?
ОтветитьI have an Apple Watch and Oura Ring. I was most interested in improving my deep sleep. My two reasons for focusing deep sleep is my age ( 70 ) and my recovery from a heart attack 2+ years ago. I wanted to see if I could improve on the restorative deep sleep. My sister in law is the same age as me and she does sleep studies as a semi retired doctor. She is the one who encouraged me to look at my deep sleep number.
I don’t like wearing a watch to bed. I find it uncomfortable. The Oura Ring I barely notice because I’ve worn a wedding ring for 46 years. I have found both devices work well. I did a 2 week comparison of the numbers to verify they were close to the same. By altering the time I get to bed, adding deep breathing & meditation, and focusing on the deep sleep numbers, I have increased the time I am in deep sleep from as little as 7 minutes to as much as and hour & a half. I would say I a, close to an hour a night of deep sleep.
Lastly, I didn’t pay retail for my Oura Ring. I bought mine on eBay for about 1/3 the retail price. I did subscribe to their monthly service to extend the ring’s reporting capabilities. I think it was worth the investment to improve my recovery day to day.
Do not, I repeat DO NOT get Whoop. It’s a scam. There is no monthly plan, you get locked into a full year after the 30 day trial. And it takes 30 days to calibrate, so having it for less than that doesn’t give you accurate stats. Imagine that, it’s clearly a way to get you stuck into a subscription. There are a couple Facebook groups and multiple people had no idea you couldn’t cancel after the 30 days. Also, it doesn’t even track sleep accurately. I had to keep editing it every day. And the customer service is the worst I’ve ever seen. Trust me, don’t waste your money
ОтветитьDo you find that the Oura ring gives you more deep sleep than AW?
ОтветитьWhy did you not add Garmin into the mix
ОтветитьThe Apple Watch remains superior because it's a piece of tech that I can still use without any subscription or membership fees, and it won't turn into electronic junk once I stop paying a subscription. The Whoop has been great to use, but once I got some kind of insight after a few months of using, I didn't feel the need to pay for a membership or own one as the average person. I can however see it being better for athletes who need constant monitoring.
ОтветитьThe Oura ring doesn’t write resting heart rate to Apple health. Which is a big thing for me, if I’m changing between different devices and want to keep Apple Heath as my central metrics repository. I think this is because they want to keep people within their ecosystem. Not because they can’t do it..
ОтветитьGarmin?
ОтветитьGreat video, Shervin. Tks a lot. 2 aspects for me: I went with the Garmin Epix Pro as it supplies all in one with a nice app. Apple health software is still suitable for me. Although, I do like to use the AW together with the Oura ring but would have to use the Oura App as Apple Health is just so so. Can the Oura app get fitness data from Apple Health?
ОтветитьJust bought the whoop with the affiliate link! Can't wait to get it!
ОтветитьI feel like I can never wear the whoop when it’s on the charging puck, as i feel it getting really warm and it’s uncomfortable. Do you ever experience this?
ОтветитьMonthly subscriptions is an auto-no for me on Whoop and apparently Oura Ring now.
Garmin works for me as a sole solution although I would appreciate a band type wearable like Whoop. I don't want to deal with multiple apps.
Solid comparison! Personally I’ve been using Huawei fitness bands for the past year and just got their Runner GT watch, has been awesome for tracking workouts and runs with high-accuracy HR tracking and GPS. 10-14 day battery is also huge for me. But I guess you can’t easily buy or use Huawei devices in the US…
ОтветитьSeriously good video mate, was just about to buy the Oura but wanted more clarity on what it could do and this video summed it up perfectly. It’s a subscribe from me 👍🏻‼️
ОтветитьThe Watch Ultra I wear since Oct 2022 is the best SwissArmy device. It does everything very well, or even better.
ОтветитьNever workout with rings on you can tear off your finger 💯 great video cheers , subbed
ОтветитьVery timely! !!
ОтветитьWhat’s your whoop group code? I can find it😅
ОтветитьSurprised you only get one day out of the Apple Watch Ultra 2... how many hours of working out recorded?
ОтветитьIdea for a future video - What apps are you using on iPhone/Apple Watch related to fitness, nutrition, healthy lifestyle, etc.
ОтветитьFinally a comparison vid, thanks Shervin!
ОтветитьThe Garmin does all of these on the one device
ОтветитьGreat content but it would be been really good to get your opinion on the OpenAI integration that whoop has and the information, insights and data that this functionality can provide.
ОтветитьI’m going to keep asking the important questions 😂. When is OuraPay and WhoopPay going to be in testing? 😂😂😂
ОтветитьThe real answer is actually Garmin.
ОтветитьGreat comparison video. Personally prefer Apple Watch 9 as it’s sleeker. And wow you sleep a lot.
ОтветитьI’ve been a daily user of Apple Watch for years and I just started wearing a Whoop 4.0 about a month ago. I wear both daily for different things. Apple Watch is unmatched as a phone sidekick, helping reduce screen time as I can see my messages and calls. Also Apple Health is amazing for tracking workouts, and doing an ECG and blood oxygen whenever I need easily. Whoop has been great for tracking sleep mostly and providing great analytics as far as my baseline health and how what I do during the day factors into my health. Apple Watch downside is having to charge it more frequently and take it off, which can lead to forgetting to put it back on, or sometimes forgetting to charge it. Whoop charging is great because you never have to take it off. Downside of the whoop strap is when it’s wet it can feel kind of gross and uncomfortable, so I take it off when I shower. I love these two devices, but if I had to pick only one I’d have to go Apple Watch.
ОтветитьCan you make comparison ultra 1 vs ultra2?
ОтветитьI found that washing my whoop strap with clarifying shampoo will help with the smell and help it last a little longer (9 months), but YES----- they get FONKY y'all. I wish they'd create a silicone band or something! Great vid as usual Shervin!
ОтветитьDo you use your polar H10 with your Apple Watch? Having issues with that interface.
ОтветитьI'd rather have the watch because I know that the future software updates are likely to make it even better overtime, knowing that some of the best management team in the world is working on it around the clock
ОтветитьA long, detailed analysis to finish with the recommendation that:
if you like wearing something on your finger, buy the oura ring
if you like wearing something on your wrist, buy the apple watch
if you like wearing something on your bicep, buy the whoop band 😂 but great video
I really like the idea of the whoop but for me as a runner I`m just into a Garmin. Best tracking for running and biking, and i forget that i wear it most of the time. And I honestly don´t think the battery feature of the whoop is really unnessecary bc the garmin lasts at least 10 days. Taking my watch off every 10 days for 2 hours or so is not that bad :)
Also the subscription systems of the oura and the whoop really are a stupid thing imo
you do great videos..
btw, the physiotherapist for my old rugby club used to say, “there is no room for alcohol, in the athlete’s diet”.
He was right.., but we were also a rugby club.
‘The Apple Watch is an ok sleep tracker’ - there is another channel that scientifically tested devices and Apple was the best sleep tracker. There is a big difference between being the best physical sleep tracker and having the best sleep insights/software that analyze the sleep data.
Ответитьexcellent review!!
ОтветитьHave you tried Welltory for Apple Watch?
ОтветитьShervin is the goat!
Ответить5th!
ОтветитьAmazing videos as always . I wish whoop captured muscle load over a period of time.
ОтветитьWhat happened to your Garmin Fenix 7 Pro and isn’t it also always Tracking the Heartrate?
ОтветитьI wore an Apple Watch for years but I prefer to wear a proper watch, the woop from my understanding doesn’t read through tattoos and the monthly price is not for me ($$$$) so about a month ago I switched to the Oura ring. Honestly love how simple it is, great data especially when you consider none of these are going to be 100% accurate. Great video!
ОтветитьHonestly love my whoop
1) never have to take it off
2) charges while I wear it
3) the deep insights
4) automatically tracks my workouts
