if the last judgment never happened then Kyle Rees never traveled in time logically John Connor should not exist but in this alternative ending John exists as for Kyle Rees, he is alive and well, he is a young man younger than his son. Did John and Sarah try to meet Kyle?

Comparing Terminator 1 and 2 with the next franchise versions is like choosing between a homemade mama's meal and fast food. Modern movies might look impressive but they luck this handmade hard work that old films used to have and made them much more realistic. I miss this old school filmmaking practices. They made you feel part of the movie. For me Terminator 1 and 2 were the end.Period.

Now we have OPENAI, the system that is advancing at such accelerated rate. The ignorance of what our own creation can accomplish is dangerous. We dont know how it will evolve.

What if someone thought of an ending that is a beginning where John is dead and everything done here in T2 was in vain.🤔

Michael Jackson wouldn't have been 40 in 1997.. Did they think anyone would notice this error?

I think the final shot of the road works better, but I have to say, I like the shot of adult John smiling and playing with his kid, contrasting with the scarred veteran we saw in the intro.

Not to be a bummer, but as happy as this ending is, it makes no sense.
The previous movie established that time in this universe works as a causal loop. That's when time travelers can't change the past, they can only play a part in shaping history as we already know it. This is seen in the boy's photograph of Sarah Connor, which is the exact same we saw Kyle holding, which means they're in a loop. Sarah gets this photograph, it ends up on Kyle, it gets burned, and then it happens all over again.

So it would simply make no sense that Sarah could change history, because she's part of a loop. The whole point was John becoming a leader and in this ending we see that that never happened.

Lot of deluded people in the comments thinking they wouldn't have attempted crappy sequels if this was the theatrical ending. Bunch of poser terminator fans lol. The one chosen for theaters is better because it makes the viewer think about the message of technology being a double edged / Sword of Damocles. This ending takes all of that away from you and just goes "they won, the end, heres a narrated epilogue"

If only James Cameron kept this scene in the original movie, it would’ve saved the suffering of many Terminator fans with no possibility of sequels.

32 years later and I'm just now seeing this. Talk about a look into the future. Geez. I remember walking to a restaurant and seeing T2 merchandise. I think it was Taco Bell but I'm not sure. I thought it was around the same time they came out with the Baja blast although that could've been later🤔 What a strange world we live in now.

It's funny how paradoxal this scene is, I mean, Kyle Reese was sent to the past by John Connor from a future of war, then Kyle became his father, after that they saved the future, so in this peaceful reality without war, there's no reason to John to make Kyle go back in time to be his father, so it is quite a paradox, unless he came from an alternate timeline like Trunks, and if this is the case, this alternate timeline wasn't saved and it's still in war

This was a perfect full circle moment for Sarah Connor. To go from being a nobody waitress and then going through what she did and then the end she got delivered last days in peace with her grown-up son and and beautiful granddaughter.

This further proves that all the remaining Terminator movies don't count. T6 is redundant, t3 is redundant. None of it follows the story, and I believe James Cameron intentionally made t6 a bad movie, so the franchise would end.
