New video from Jog on, lets go...
Rock on, Jog On!
Wonderful video, Harry. Great to see your training plan for your typical week. Have you tried the Garmin daily suggested workout? Love to know your opinion on it - maybe a video idea for the future! JOG ON! :D
ОтветитьGreat video, Harry
ОтветитьLove that orange top! Hoping Santa is bringing me one!
ОтветитьI'm currently a slave to my Garmin Half Marathon training plan. All the thinking is taken out of it and i mostly do as I'm told, or shuffle the runs to fit into my work calendar as required. I have to rely on the discipline of following it, rather than motivated to do it.
ОтветитьConsistency has certainly helped me this year. I try and stick to regular days each week and schedule 1 hard session each week with the rest being easy/moderate efforts. It definitely helps! As a result I have clocked 186 runs so far this year, so an average of one every other day. Resolutuon for 2024, throw in some S&C! Thanks Harry, great advice!
ОтветитьThanks Harry!! Always good to hear your sage advice🙏
ОтветитьIm both types of runner. When I have a race booked im highly motivated. If the calendar is empty I go on feel. A plan would definitely benefit me 😅 If I ever decide to commit to a plan ill be coming back to this video
ОтветитьI've done this for a while and found it really helps. I actually use Excel with columns Mon - Sun and rows with the date at the start of the week and use fill colours for different types of runs. I started the spreadsheet in Nov 2019.... crikey! 🤓💻
ОтветитьI’m going to try this. I did a 12 week half marathon plan on the summer and it took 11 mins off my PB, it was nice having something to stick to, and it clearly helped. I’m gonna see how weekly planning goes. I do have the somewhat unrealistic plan of getting sub 25 parkrun time in 2024. We’ll see how that goes
Ответить100% consistency is key! I am a firm believer in this too. Well done on some amazing times this year Harry 💪💪 Enjoy the holidays xxx
ОтветитьAnother great video Harry 👌👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🍀
ОтветитьFantastic video Harry, love your channel! Thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьI love it when a plan comes together!👌🧡
ОтветитьNice video Harry, it’s hard to get a balance of being able to run around work, then trying to fit to much into a weekend. So a plan like yours gives you a goal to stick to.
ОтветитьHave you done a marathon Harry?
ОтветитьI’ve just started my 16 week marathon plan and really want to be consistent.
I always plan but am very bad at sticking to it, especially the key interval workouts. Hoping to improve on this and get a good 80% of the plan done.
Good to see another left handed person😂
ОтветитьIm in a runniing mood xD
Doing 30 min 5k on saturdays parkruns but no training during the week, I want to go sub 20 5k , sub3 42km and and do an 100km ultra 2024.
thx for the video
'Go for that planned run' - notice the subtle change
ОтветитьBrilliant vid thanx Harry! Started my highest ever volume and consistency this year and smashed my sub 26.30 goal 3 times all thanks to the consistency and sticking to a plan! More of the same this yr and hopefully sub 26 Parkrun in 2024 🤞
Have a fantastic Christmas 🎅
Great video. I think I'm in the middle of the two types. As I'm laidback plus very motivated to reach my goals and to put the training in but not to worry about pace just the consistency like you said. Sometimes plans need to change according to what my kids are doing as they only have me. Have a great Christmas 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
ОтветитьThird type of runner - those with a newborn! Then it's "run whenever you get the opportunity which isn't enough".
Ответитьi am also a laid back runner and tend to build my training plans toward events i'm signed up for....the downside is, when i'm not signed up for anything (like now, because it's summer here in Australia, and you're marinating in your own sweat even when sitting still) i tend to drift. but i have the 5k Improver plan and i'm committed to starting it in the new year! my goals in 2024 are a sub-30 parkrun and sub-two hour half marathon....watch this space...
ОтветитьMonday - hiit workout
Tuesday - easy run
Wednesday - weights and conditioning
Thursday - run hill reps/intervals/farlek
Friday - rest
Sat - rest/hiit
Sun - long run
At least that’s the plan anyway…
Trying to find an extra day to run without it conflicting with work/family and a more holistic approach to fitness…that’s the challenge
Love this video Harry! I like the idea of planning a week ahead because quite often when I start an 8-12 week plan I give up the moment I don’t quite ace a session (usually in the first two weeks!). I’d love to see more about how you structure your week and what sessions you incorporate, especially when building toward a particular distance goal. And how you incorporate parkrun - I often find that I struggle to adapt a plan to that very simple Saturday morning commitment. Merry Christmas to you and yours, looking forward to Jog On in 2024!
ОтветитьThose must be the best shots of someone sitting at a desk that I've ever seen. Phenomenal cinematography Harry 🤣
ОтветитьHi Harry is there going to be a video of the Cardiff half marathon? You overtook me around the lake while holding and talking to your camera and I’ve been waiting for the footage ever since
ОтветитьBest 5 minutes of my life :) Thank you Harry! Jog On!!
ОтветитьI can't run cause of airpolution in my city, during winter the weather's quality is really bad 💔
ОтветитьLike it Harry…everything you need to improve in a 5 min vid
ОтветитьFab video, as always! I've often been 'hung up' on monthly plans (or even longer plans), so planning for the week makes a lot of sense 🙌
ОтветитьFollowing a 3 month Garmin training plan for half marathon, love that it plans my runs based around 80/20 and adjusts mileage and intensity without me having to do the clever thinking. Knowing my plan for the next week makes it easier to stick to or move to fit around my life if needs arise. Just went and got a 10k PB of 53 mins today during one of my training runs at 151 bpm average which was unintentional but pleasant bonus.
ОтветитьNice to meet you at my home parkrun Pomphrey Hill this New Year's Day. Very best for 2024 and the channel!
ОтветитьMy plan calls for a 5k race tomorrow morning and it’s already 1am. I don’t want to do this lol, but new year new me!
ОтветитьHow does anyone find time to run 6 times a week 😂
Ответитьwow, How did I not know about this channel earlier. All the videos are on point, very well explained, not so long, no fancy editing, but really great editing. everything is just perfect. wow. Great work really loved it.
ОтветитьI started 'running' about a year and a half ago. I'll be 40 in a few months. Although I am running more than I ever did, I feel like I've hit a wall. I finally cracked a 30 minute 5k last fall, but then allergies killed me. Despite medication, even simple physical activity was difficult. I tried running, and would make it about 1k before I had to stop. I've finally regained most of my fitness and I'm going to try to push myself again. Thanks for your videos, Harry. they do help keep me motivated.
ОтветитьSince I'm a beginner runner, I'm doing 7 weeks of running only 3 days per week before moving to 4 days per week. I hope this helps to avoid injury. I do think the weekly plan helps a lot with staying consistent, but mostly to feel okay about scheduled rest days, like you mentioned.
