I love the part we're Athene says he understands his emotions so well he basically can't misunderstand him, the hosts face is like wait wait lol

I didn't like this communication, from K nor from Athene. The Body language from the Doctor and the vagueness of Athene

At first, I thought this guy was just dodging, but then he explained well about his intensions. However, I found he was zoom out every time to things that was asking about him. He is a good guy, but might not recognise that he was dodging many many things to justify his current self. This might be a survival mechanism to stay safe in his childhood family. Wish he has glow better after being on the stream 2 years ago.

Let me psychoanalyze this (Because we all know the internet needs it). Athene is figuring out the rules of his manipulation; Poking and prodding what works and what does not.

Athene: Feelings and Empathy should be thrown out the window.
Also Athene: I want someone to truly understand me and view the world through my eyes.

Big props to Dr. K for digging through this and getting some semblance of conversation. I would’ve hung up the call 3 minutes in.

I think the reason this is so interesting to watch is that Athene isn't used to people who actually do understand him. Dr. K gets what he's doing and why but Athene is so used to talking circles and being the biggest talker in the room. Dr. K talks to understand, Athene talks so people don't find out who he is

Props to Dr K for getting him to open up despite him clearly going into this with the intention of not opening up and being so defensive and just giving politician answers for every question.

This started off painful and just got worse. Almost every video on Healthy Gamer is super helpful. This is not one of those. You might want to move along… unless you enjoy the pain of root canals.

Athene seems paranoid. Wants to not be misunderstood in a very weird way.

So much praise for Dr. K for being patient in the comments, but it is visually and audibly apparent how impatient he is very early on. I can understand to some degree because of the way Athene communicates, but he could have played ball a little bit more instead of contributing to the breakdown. Doesn't help that he's interrupting (though they both do this), raising his voice, and laughing while looking at chat which is undoubtedly shit-talking Athene from the jump. It's sad when the goal of understanding and conversation is sabotaged like this, and ironic how intolerant the audience is of Athene for speaking his mind. I thought this channel is supposed to be in support of understanding, empathy, and mental health.

I feel like athene has narcissistic personality disorder and the most effective way he found to exist and be valued in the eyes of the rest of the world is by helping people!

It's fascinating how much, as an intelligent person, you can really live inside the abstractions your mind creates to the point where it is your whole world. I tend to be very in-my-head, but this chap is on a whole other level. 

His whole goal for the conversation is about determining whether they can collaborate, but any logical, practical egoless person would turn that question into: "Are there any projects that would make a big difference to whatever cause that would be uniquely more likely to succeed as a result of the particular skills/experience/resources each of us bring to the table vs us both doing our own things separately".

Instead the whole conversation is about maintaining and extending this abstract framework which paints him in a particular way, and determining what the other persons place is in that framework and thus whether they are deserving of the opportunity to collaborate with him because they too have a "wide enough reality" and have forsaken all earthly desires.



It's lovely to see that the end result was something that has had a positive effect on the world though, and I hope that as he ages it continues to work for him.

Athene, I understand the deeper meaning you are asking. The other person can't answer your question. He'll understand sometime. Thank you for asking him. Now I'm looking at my own motivations. Thank you Athene. You're a blessing to so many! 💙

people get all wrong, take side of some kind of debate....., dont have the sutility to understand, wanna take it like copy and paste staff, death reality, movie of lies, theres only reflex in all of you and me in this comment but thats not a problem is the key to knowledge of our selfs, why you cry like babies and protest and judge, judge yourselfs fast people, is the origin of our nature why we have this problems of split identitys and when the horde see one who dont play the game ufff you get angry and envy and the other who fall long time ago.....

Within first 30 minutes we can say one of the greatest drunk conversations in history of sober people. It’s a hard to hear talk.

Also I think Dr K lost a great opportunity to outrightly ask him “then I understand you want something positive from this interview - is there a personal gain for you? Would you like this conversation to achieve a specific goal and that I would be here fulfilling this personal gain for you unaware of what that is?”.

Athene seems very concerned about hungry people around the world. It’s usually a common topic among politicians, it gets a lot of traction from people that understand they should be concerned about that or that at least they would be seen as “good people” if they could at least show the same concern. I don’t know if he does that directly to tackle the “too many hungry people around the world” problem or if he does that to unexpectedly confront the hypocrisy of people that hide behind such speech while won’t ever do enough. Or if he is there such for personal gain. It’s hard to pinpoint when he is not achieving for so many years any of the 3 in an impactful way.

In any case when he compares Dr. K motivation to help gamers with his said motivation of helping starving people, all I come to think is that he forgets that if his goal is to directly help starving people, as in saying “contributing to fight world hunger is more important than helping gamers”, he cannot forget that helping gamers can be a mean to fighting world hunger - for many potentially brilliant minds can be freed from brainlessly playing videogame and focus their brainpower into other goals that can actually contribute to tackling the world hunger problem. Actually even allowing them to be distracted with videogames is a way to turn the wheel of economy, which can ultimately help companies tackling the agendas such as fighting world hunger (provided these gamers tomorrow won’t end up below the misery threshold because of their addiction).

Most of this “angel’s gender” talk would actually become irrelevant if we would understand that there is no problem to be solved - instead just a life to be accepted for what it is first and then lived before we go out that thinking that we know what we are doing (or what to do). People are indeed just functioning as robots where they think they have aimed for their purpose by themselves, provided they almost never really give themselves a chance to try different things and change their purpose along the way (or just become purposeless - believe it or not life doesn’t require that anyway).

I would think that Dr. K missed great opportunities for great questions here, but Athene makes it hard for him anyway (and Dr K gets triggered by Athene’s incapacity to be interviewed).

This changed my mind about who healthy gamer is. When you can't even understand where Athene is coming from in this conversation you ar not interested in other people and just on your own view count, i know this is a long time ago but this interview is just hollow and stupid.

I lost about 7 IQ points listening to this.

Interviewer seems annoyed and constantly cutting him off when he ask his intention of helping, instead of pretending you dont know what it means just say no, yea i like to help within my comfort zone.

1. Athene doesnt believe your main motivatikn in life is to help people

2. He doesnt believe that you really try to understand him

He thinks you are a fraud and you get angry and start to make him sound like someone who always making everything abstract, but you know what he means and pretend like you dont
