Great review and demo as always, sir. I love Vox and its jingle jangle. I own three of its Valvetronix models.
ОтветитьI am not sure which one has better sound mustang LT25 or the Vox VT20X. I'll probably buy both and return one. Sound wise (through headphones) I lean slightly towards vox but the mustang user interface seems more user friendly.
ОтветитьIm sure if Vox had the official names of the modelled amps the cost would be much much more than it is, unless all the manufacturers got together and agreed to use the product names free of charge, of course then they would require to hear the models first before agreeing to their implementation which again would push up the price of the amp.
ОтветитьThanks for the review, iam new whith this AMP, i have a Question , How you set this amp to sound like jazz?
Ответитьi paid 249 for my vt100x
ОтветитьIt's like a kid in a candy store amplifier, so much fun, sounds ,noise, sometimes it's like a war going on.way too many options. But what a great time I have with this, muddy, clean, world war , just insane sustain. Love mine experimenting. Have no idea what a normal setting is though on this. So back to a regular amp with pedals for not getting carried away. Just think, one girlfriend or hundreds of them , is this amp.
ОтветитьI've owned 3 generations of Valvetronix amps and they never disappointed. Great quality and value for a practice or budget recording amplifier.
ОтветитьI remember when I tried a Fender Mustang, there were so many different options and yet I couldn't even find ONE sound that's usable. This on the other hand is a whole different thing compared to other modeling amps. Why aren't other brands also using a 12AX7? Solid state will never sound like a legit amp, that's pure facts sadly.
ОтветитьWould you say it can compete with Katana and Catalyst in 2023?
ОтветитьThese are a decent deal at the new price but you can find a vt40 sometimes used at gc for $60, sometimes $40. A buck a watt and all the effects for free.
ОтветитьThank you.
Bought my vt40x used.
You have give me control over it.
Great amp, great review.
ОтветитьImmediately after purchase, throw out the speaker! Install an upgrade. Also, I have played this at live gigs by just placing a e609 Microphone in front of the cab. Also, I have used the Vox Tone-room software live using my iPad. The amp will respond in “real time” to your changes.
ОтветитьGreat amp and guitar! 😁 👍
ОтветитьCan you compare the Fender Super Champ xd with the vox T 20??
ОтветитьI got this amp and for some reason the sound is always so weird. I hate it. The sound of the guitar when you play it dives down, the sound is wavy. Not in a good way, is does this randomly and I tried pressing all the buttons and stuff and it still does it. Heck I played another one at the guitar store and it did the same thing, help
Ответить😨
Ответить
Wonder why they haven't updated this.
ОтветитьI need help with this amp! Has no Manila exhaling each setting or each category and what they do. Wish I could get a quick lesson from this guy. Trying to get good chorus and reverb noises but I can’t for some reason like the older version of this model. I also bought the vox foot pedal and they gave no manual either!
ОтветитьAmazing in depth review, thank you. As a beginner, I wasn't sure which amp to buy. Now I ordered this one and can't wait to play around with all the settings.
Ответитьcan i use this amp on my RIg pedalboard??is it recommendable?
ОтветитьSo far the best review of this amp on the net. I just bought one second hand and I think it's😎for what it is.
ОтветитьI have bought a VT40x thanks to this video. Great review.
ОтветитьAnd you're playing a Harley Benton. Is it Any good ?
Ответитьgreat video and I laughed when you swore hahah. can anyone tell me how to get the presets onto the foot pedal ..I know you have to put them into the bank and 4 channels but the presets arnt doing it. I can't turn round and fiddle with the amp on stage. I used my 20watt this week on stage instead of my 100 watt marshall. It was so good I rushed out and bought the 40 watt thanks heaps x
ОтветитьI'm going to guess that you've studied years of music theory??
ОтветитьI started with a Mustang LT25 last year and am looking for a more "dialed in" practice amp. I LOVE the Vox sound, and the "Brit 65" model in the Fender is the one I use for almost everything. The high gain models are all trash. This seems like a more focused sound with fewer bells & whistles (that's a good thing), so short of getting an actual Vox AC and a load of pedals... why would I not want this? I'm having a hard time coming up with a response to that question.
ОтветитьModelling amps/pedalboards are great for finding your way in the complex world of guitar tech, regardless of your experience level. I still refer to my Line 6 Floor Pod Plus for inspiration regarding different amplifiers. So many non-Line 6 companies have gotten money off me thanks to the Pod, and I think that's great :)
ОтветитьI love the fact I can use manual mode but just as much, when I feel like it, I can use the app. I like figuring out who used what, set it up without plugging in then see how it sounds. Sometimes i nail it. Sometimes i don't.
ОтветитьDo you prefer Vox VT40X or Marshall CODE 50?
ОтветитьThe fact that the pedal is not included makes this a no go for me. Obviously, Vox is more interested in making a buck than offering a complete experience out of the box ! !
ОтветитьHi henning. GREAT detailed video, thanks mate 👍.
I've just watched your video on the katana 100 mk2 as well. You seemed to be really impressed with that. I'm torn between the vox vt40x, and the katana 50 mk2. In your opinion, which would you say was the best? It is just for use in the house, no gig's or anything, just a novice guitarist trying to sound awesome 🤘. Thanks buddy
I was torn between a Fender Mustang and a Boss Katana for a while, then I found a VT100X in a pawn shop and was absolutely blown away by how great it sounded and how versatile it is. The Tone Studio software isn't quite as intuitive or slick or convenient as what Fender offers now, and it doesn't have bluetooth either, but it's still perfectly serviceable with a mini USB cable and a little bit of playing around. That tube preamp makes a ton of difference, and that amp gets LOUUUUUUUUUD.
All in all I don't think you can get a better amp out there for the money. I can do just about anything I want in a live setting with it and some pedals.
My Valvetronix mother board is now in a Hughes and kettner Cab V30 and a 2nd can and a Tung_Sol tube!! Got it cause of You Henning, Thanks
ОтветитьJust bought this to record and it will definitely get the job done in a studio
ОтветитьHow does the sound compare to the VOX AV30?
ОтветитьJust ordered one. Portland, Maine. THANK YOU for this demo!
ОтветитьThat’s a great amp. I tried it in the store. Vox is great for making such affordable quality amps.
ОтветитьI'm about to buy one. I won't change my mind. I'm telling you.
ОтветитьThe aux in is very very great!
ОтветитьSo as far as I understand your explanation right, the BIAS SHIFT just changes how expensive the amp is?
ОтветитьI bought a (used, real cheap) VT100x on the strength of this and a few other decent reviews.
In a band situation you CANNOT tell its not a valve amp, seriously good.
Thanks so much for the Metal tone break down. I was a bit worried it wouldn’t metal very well. Because Vox is Vox and not known for metal. But I’m a newbie at best even after 15 years. But now have my own money and want to invest in an amp that will inspire me to play more. But is versatile for most genres.
ОтветитьAre u german?
ОтветитьMahalo for the tutorial. One trick I learned was that you can customize the bank without a computer. Highlight any bank, customize a tone then Press and hold any bank.
