Pretty sure somali pirates in a dingy could take down the russian navy lol. Theyre a joke of a military.

Again as a Brit I am please to see our naval capabilities modernise, but as well as acting alone the Royal Navy is part of NATO. A force that Russia does not want to take on. I would say Putin’s war on Ukraine has proved how inadequate his military is and suffering a 20% loss of ships in the back sea to a country without a naval force again points to Russia’s over estimation of it’s capability.

Is that western propaganda designed to keep the spirits high? Serious question! I immigrated to US 9 years ago and i can proudly call myself an American citizenand seeing a video about our allies being strong only makes me feel more secure and confident but i assume the russians and the chinese ppls have similar content floating around about north Korea operating 14 aircraft carriers or something like this.😂

These CIA propaganda networks on CIAtube are dime a dozen... poorly researched robot voices all of it complete hyperbolic dogma full of mistruths and cliche's for the low octane thinkers.

What is the topic besides bragging on a very small Royal navy. I know they are capable, but they don't rule the worlds oceans anymore. We also know the Russian navy sucks.

Rah Rah Royal Navy. Im British BTW. While the RN does have some good and very good ships. It does not have nearly enough of anything. Typical penny pinching and head in the sand thinking from the politicians. The rule of thumb for warships is four. Number One on station doing its job. Number two working up to replace the first on station, or be surged out. Number three is in pier side maintenance . Number four has its guts strewn across a drydock in refit. The UK has six Daring class ASW Destroyers. We were supposed to have 12. With 12, that's three out doing its job. It all goes to hell if a single ship has an accident or is sunk with six.

More hulls means less wear on ship and crews. So both last longer. The US Navy has been effectively running on a Wartime footing since 2001. With a third of the USN at sea at anyone time. Which is why ships are wearing out and crew retention is falling.
The RN and The USN are in the same boat (ha). Neither have any cheap plentiful ships to show up and show a countries interest aka showing the flag. We both have to sent billion plus tier One ships. As that's all they both have left. So more wear on ships and crews racing all over the planet to show the flag.

The UK needs to return to its national strength. Boots on the ground has never been the British strength. The UK can never generate a realistic ground force due to the population numbers. The Cold War British forces in Germany where a historical aberration.

The UK need severely expand the RN. Its politicians rushing British Forces all over to look "tough". The RN does not have the ships to just peel off a Daring to zip across to wherever for some politician's whim.

Rant almost over :)

If the RN had the ships as specified when first ordered (12 Darings and three QE Carriers etc). We would have enough hulls to do everything being asked of the RN with some slack.

YOU are speaking as if you are in command of the British Royal Navy you are not a journalist or a blogger trying to educate the public but let me burst your bubble if these ships come close to the Russian warships they will be finished these are not the Chinese or Ukraine.

Well if Ukraine can do it with out a navy, good help Russia when it faces the best professional navy . 2021 showed balls with Russia, cutting through Crimea waters getting some sun tan in the middle of their war games . fun fact what other navy on earth took out the Spanish and French ships in the battle of Trafalgar, coming to steal our fish again i suppose lol , ww2 took out the French Italian and German navy . not bad for an island .

THESE PROJECTIONS BASED PURELY ON A "ONE ON ONE" NAVAL ASSETS MAKES FOR A GOOD " SELF ASSURING" !!.. peace time exercises !!.. however when it comes TIME to go at IT for real, THE RUSSIANS will "SWAT ASIDE" pip squeaks like the todays RN who'll will be "fumbling/groping" in the DARK !!.. and into "OBLIVION" !!.. no more opportunities for another "Trafalgar Square" !!..this "existing sqare" will probably have to peer all. around in an ISLE all ”swamped" in a TSUNAMI in which what remains above "sea-level" will be an "islet" !!!... 😢😢😢😣😣🙄🙄🙄🤔🤔🤔!!!...

LETS NOT GET COMPLACENT -
WE HAVE A CRAP AIRCRAFT CARRIER THANKS TO THE LAB GOV AT THE TIME DESIGNING IT WITHOUT A PROPER FLIGHT DECK AND NO AIRCRAFT
SO ITS BEEN A DOGS DINNER FROM THE START, SADLY THE SO CALLED PEACE DIVIDEND JUST DWINDLED THE ARM FORCES TO DO MORE WITH LESS.
EVEN WITH ITS 2% COMMITMENT TO NATO, PLAYING GAMES IS IMPORTANT BUT CAN THE UK AFFORD TO LOSE A SINGLE SHIP / SUB AT SEA THEY CANT ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT WE DON` T HAVE THE COVER OR REPLACEMENT OR SAILORS YES WE HAVE A IMPORTANT ROLL BUT LETS NOT KID OURSELVES

Britain and the USA both have equal understanding of how they must maintain control of the sea for overall security. The USA has strategic depth, Britain has to remain tactical/ operational due to limits of their economy and proximity of the threat to their borders.

I tam surprised that the USA is not starting up another bunch of Burke Class (Ticonderogas maybe?) with a hull extension to take missiles as large as the minuteman..... for ballistic interceptors that can be deployed forward, or very deep magazines to increase fleet ordnance supplies afloat.

Being a patriotic Brit I’m sure the Royal Navy is bloody good especially considering its relatively small size. The deployed technology is cutting edge. But and there is always a but, bigger Navies sheer weight of numbers could be a handful.
