How often do you fertilize ? Which months. Thank you.
ОтветитьI have to move my hydrangeas and the thought scares me because they are beautiful. They are against my house and I am putting in a sidewalk there and a heat pump. I need help!
ОтветитьIf I didn't know this tip and did prune my hydrangea low, how many years until it gives flowers again?
ОтветитьThis is the best explained, easy to understand and exemplified video about hydrangeas. Good job, thanks for the helpful info.
ОтветитьTHANK YOU!!! 🎉😂 I did too much with mine last year and had no blooms 😮😢 Then I decided to just leave them alone and it sounds like you just confirmed it. Appreciate it!! -Franklin, TN
Ответитьgreat video
ОтветитьHi Kelly, I planted 1 small mop head hydrangea about 20 inches tall last year. It has about 4 heads on it at the time. I left it all through out the winter with the heads on it. The heads have turned rusty colour and I’m not sure what to do with it now? Please help. I’m in Ireland. Thank you
Ответитьkelly --- this is the best intro videos I have seen. seriously. how do you know if what you have is a nikko? alot of the blooms look similiar. we bought a house and inherited in the ground many hydrangea types. is nikko the same as mophead?
ОтветитьI like that you pronounce Hydrangea like Tony Soprano would :D. Amazing stuff, thank you for sharing.
ОтветитьLove the background noises. Living in Los Angeles, you don’t hear much of that. Too much concrete everywhere. Thanks for all the vids. I’ll take all these tips and try to apply them to my location and see what works. I’ve only had hydrangeas for about 2 weeks now, so we’ll see where this journey goes!
ОтветитьFrom Chicago (Evanston to be exact). This was so helpful!!
ОтветитьHi Kelly, how do you keep your hydrangea so beautifully blue? Mine were blue when purchased, now come back pink year after year, despite applications of acid-plant type fertilizer. I'd much prefer them to bloom in blue. Thanks!
ОтветитьSo when can I cut them to put them in a vase?
ОтветитьWhen taking cuttings to propagate hydrangeas, should you cut from a new stem coming up from bottom of the plant, from the new growth on old wood or does it not matter as long as there are no flowers on the stem yet?
ОтветитьHi I'm from California and I would like to know what if you wanted to cut those flowers and make a bouquet do you ruin Next Summers flowers to come back? Also if you don't prune does the plant just get super tall and really big and take up lots of lots of space? How do you keep the plants at a reasonable size without them becoming so out of control and still how pretty flowers 🌺. Thank you for all your videos
ОтветитьYou're Good!!!!! Thank you so much
ОтветитьThank you for very good information and advice ❤️😇😎
ОтветитьWhat happens if your hydrangea is drooping? Is it then worthwhile to prune?

ОтветитьLoved this! I am in Maryland and I always wanted to know this but never googled because I just loved seeing the green pop up on the old wood! That’s why I never cut them back but THANK YOU for that pure explanation! This is great stuff!
ОтветитьThank you so much for this very informative video! I've had an issue with my hydrangea for the last few years...beautiful green leaves but no blooms. I'm in California. I will make sure the gardeners do not prune them anymore. Also, one more question...is there a way they should be cut for fresh flowers? I mean how far down to encourage more blooms? Thank you!!
ОтветитьHi Kelly - thank you for this! Wondering you cut blooms for vases from the old wood type so that you don’t cut out any of the next year’s buds? Many thanks!
ОтветитьFrom your propagating video, what I do when I put it in potting soil?
ОтветитьWhy do mine look worse after watering? It’s 100 degrees out, I watered at the base for one a few minutes and then they look wilted.
ОтветитьThanks Kelly where are you located? Just found your channel!! Love the Hydrangeas!! My Grandmother had a very large blue colored Hydrangeas in her yard!!
Thanks for sharing!!! ❤ Carolyn
Hey Kelly, I see a lot of small yellowish blooms there. Are those new or old blooms? How does the process work? Do the new blooms start as yellow and then become blue? Or are those ones that were blue already?
ОтветитьSouthwest Missouri, Northwest Arkansas area here.
ОтветитьI have some bushes that I have never pruned and they have never bloomed in the 7 years I've had them. I have others right next to them that bloom every year. What's up with that?
ОтветитьLove this video! I paused a few times to go check my hydrangeas 😂😂. A plus, we are in the same area. Subscribed!!
ОтветитьThanks for explaining.
ОтветитьI just discovered your channel and I love it. I am a kind of maniac of hydrangeas, I have so many in my garden and all over the years I am getting better at growing it more beautiful every year following so many tutorials on line. Since here in Canada (Quebec) we have so long and rude winters, it is my paradise to be surrounded by beautiful flowers all summer long since it is so short. But looking at your tutorials, I've learned so many other things to make it even better in the years to come. Thank you very much!
ОтветитьVA what about 4 seasons zone8
ОтветитьThank you So much! I bought my house a few years ago and it came with a hydrangea plant… I have no idea how to care for it… this is so helpful…

ОтветитьWatching from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦 thanks
ОтветитьWow... your hydrabgeas are fantastic. Thanks for this good points, Kelly. 👏
ОтветитьCan you differentiate between pruning and dead heading? Thanks!
ОтветитьNew subscriber here! I just love these beauties! 💙 Best video explaining how to get beautiful blooms...thanks! I just love perennials and I got lots of giant pink hibiscus but I just fell in love with hydrangeas and planning to plant a few of these this year! I was wondering if I can use from start cow manure as a fertilizer? Our veggie garden is doing fantastic planted with cow manure...
ОтветитьSo Kelly from June to the following spring it seems that😮 you don't even deadhead either. Or if you do deadhead before autumn how much do you cut off??? Or do you only wait for the following spring to prune instead of deadheading??? Therefore how much do you take off that hydrangea in spring????
ОтветитьSo if it’s early blooms it’s most likely old wood and late blooms summer?
ОтветитьCan you please tell me what hedge you have next to the hydrangeas
Ответить
