Hi there! I started learning a few months ago to help my son who is taking ASL in school. I have really fallen in love with it! But I just read your paper on subject/verb/object!
So many people teach topic/comment, including my son's teacher.
For example: In spoken English: I am moving to a big city next year.
I learned: Next year city big me move.
But according to your S/V/O, would it be: Next year, me move city big. ???
I want to make sure I learn the way deaf people actually sign. THANK YOU!
thanks so much bill! I had a teacher at community college who tried to teach ASL with no speaking and no notes, just by signing rapidly at us, and it made me feel so lost and defeated but your course is comprehensive and enjoyable and gives me confidence back to learn
ОтветитьI think I'm autistic and I go non verbal sometimes and this is just what I was looking for it's very direct 10/10 would recommend
ОтветитьI cant believe this was so much fun. I thought learning sign language would be really hard and intimidating but its really not :3 well spell probably will be but this wasn't bad
ОтветитьMy dumb ass just tried to turn up the volume 😅
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьSerious question, does it matter I use my left hand at times? Or is it only meant for right handed signing?
ОтветитьWho else is here because of Echo?
ОтветитьPOV: you’re just sitting there nodding your head because you watched too many “Learn How To Sign” videos
except it’s not a POV, it’s real 💀
Am I the only one who sat here for about five minutes trying to figure out what was wrong with my speakers? until I realized obviously there's not gonna be sound for this video lol
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьI tried to turn the volume up because I couldn't hear anything until I realized...🤦♂😆
ОтветитьAm i the only one who's developing a crush on the girl. Like she is SO beautiful and SO cute.
Ответитьwow this is fun!!!
ОтветитьBill IS wonderful. Fun and instructive.
ОтветитьI was confused why the video has no sound then realized that im a dick
ОтветитьBill's got a good sense of humor. Hallmark of a great teacher.
ОтветитьThank you for this wonderful content! I am a future special education teacher and learning ASL will be a very valuable tool for me to communicate with my students!
ОтветитьThis is phenomenal, I’m so glad it popped up in my feed :)
I began checking out sign language books in Jr High (back in the 90s) and have just learned more signs with this video than I could ever teach myself and retain from a book.
Thank you this awesome into B-i-l-l.
ME OVER HERE TURNING UP THE VOLUME LIKE A DUMMY 🤦🏻♀️
ОтветитьSkills sing language good well excellent 😊
I'm
Not me turning up the volume
ОтветитьThank you.
ОтветитьI click on the video, it starts up, and I'm like, "hey, wait, why can't I hear anyth-- ooooooooh....."
Though, quite honestly, I LOVE that the video is completely silent! It's actually helping me focus on the movements, instead of relying on my hearing to help fill things in. I am most definitely in for the long haul! :)
Currently asking the wall of my room what it’s name is and how it’s doing… I’M SO EXCITED! Thank you for the lesson! I had a customer come in who is deaf and I want to surprise him next time I see him :D Edit: I’m halfway through the video, and I didn’t realize I didn’t have subtitles on! You are an incredible teacher!!
ОтветитьSometimes he double taps his hands a lot, like in the word 'no' or 'name' is that the way to do it all the time? Or is he repeating it? Or do you always double tap for questions, and once for answers? I'm very new :/
Ответитьhow many people checked the volume on their computer a dozen times before figuring it out? lol my husband has developed dysphasia from radiation damage and is now unable to talk audibly at 60. it has been a real frustration for him (and me) learning to communicate in a different way. i watched the last season of great british bake off which had a signing contestant. he was opposed at first but i said i just want to learn basics and he finally agreed. my plan is that he will find it so helpful he'll want to learn more!
ОтветитьHi there , so there’s a guy works in the supermarket nd he’s SO gentle .. everybody avoids him , no one seems to communicate with him although they talk nd laugh with the other cashier. I just want to talk to him ..makes him happy , idk why I just want to ❤so thank you
ОтветитьWe had new neighbors move in next door who are a deaf couple. I only know a few signs, plus the alphabet, so I'm starting at the beginning here. I'd like to be able to talk with them.
ОтветитьToady was my first lesson Thanks a bunch
I cls per day i think
Can anybody tell me how to teach my deaf brother sign language,he is 15 now but he uses his own hand gestures to communicate, most of the time we don't get what he is saying , I want to teach him sign language and I also want to learn,he is still learning to write things, like he doesn't know well words and their meanings, so I'm confused where should I start? how can I make this possible? Most of the videos I watched they knew the words and they're just learning the gesture but here it won't be helpful so somebody please come to rescue 🥺
ОтветитьThe most interesting class ever❤❤❤the teacher is perfect 🎉🎉🎉
ОтветитьBill is a great teacher. I can catch up on the lessons and can memorize them easily. Furthermore, I like the way you didn’t put any audio for the video as I can focus on the lesson. I will keep learning ASL! Thanks a lot, Dr. Bill!
ОтветитьHi Dr Bill!
Do you have any resources for parents to teach children ASL?
Theres resources for adults and babies and no inbetween.
I remember taking asl in highschool and thinking it’s actually way easier than English, still is
ОтветитьHer eyebrows don’t move, apparently.
Ответитьwhy is this so fun to learn?! he makes it so fun lol
ОтветитьThis is very good. Im learning basic.
ОтветитьThank you, I am going to be learning ASL due to having an issue where I go mute in certain situations and can't find my voice. Subscribing
ОтветитьSomeone please sign to that girl that she is a bombshell!
Such a beautiful woman!
Doctors once informed me and suggested that I could go completely deaf in a few years due to a medical condition. Thankfully, that never happened, and I only have partial hearing loss. These events in my life has sparked my interest in learning ASL, with the goal of connecting with people who are deaf or mute in a more meaningful way and I am only starting my journey but this video has helped me a lot already :> thank you!
ОтветитьI love this
ОтветитьThis is the best teacher on asl.
My journey started here now im going back through them all again just for fun
I turned the volume up😳😳😳😳
ОтветитьThis goes to show, you don’t have to verbally say anything to have an amazing personality.
Ответить😢😢
ОтветитьThis teaching strategy is fantastic! I'm learning really fast, and it helps that the signs are very logical. I'm also intending to learn Korean sl. Does anyone know some good channels?
ОтветитьSorry, cant learn that fast.
