The only defense I can think of is that in the lore her creator is dead, so they weren't there to update her.

Echo was the last of the OW1 hero releases to be fair, she didn't need an update cause that's how she was intended to look for OW2

Yeah but Echo came out at the very end of OW 2. And I love my echo, probably my 4th most played DPS. But I think it's fair that they didn't come out with anything considering that she came out as like the last thing in OW1

I almost never pick echo, but i started to play random heroes and now i get happy when i get her, i think you can learn a lot by playing random heroes

To be honest It wouldn't make sense, the only person who has the knowledge to update Echo was Liao, which is now dead. Plus that skin is the same because she was intended for release in Overwatch 2, but for whatever reason they released her in Overwatch 1.

Tbf, since she’s a robot, she would pretty much need to have been repaired or upgraded and her inventor is dead so she has no one to repair her. All the other robots either have ppl to upgrade them, or just got new clothes like Zen
