In America only the people who live on a shoestring listen to Les Paul music, they don't have even a penny to give you.
The people who drive Mecedes Benz have tons of money have all the bills payed and their out to throw away tons of money, they will give you lots of money except if you play Les Paul because they think it's a lot of noisie unsofisticated music for the lower class.
So if you play a Les Paul it means Les money or no money or maybe just one penny.
While I with tha different guitar gravitate towards the people who drive the most expensive cars and make all the $$$.
While you with your les paul☹️

I have a Veritas pro seris portlander with bearcats and some other upgrades such as a new pickguard, painted headstock, copper sheilding and upgraded wiring. this thing IS my dream guitar and im 18... i also have a vintage modified jazzmaster (squire), thinline cavornita telecaster (squire) and a strat (slammer). these 4 give me 3 tones i really like and are very different. the 2 squires sound nearly the same however.

My one and only electrical guitar is an Ibanez AS 53 Artcore…. And I love it. Got it as a present when I didn’t even know what guitar to buy, but it’s really a great choice. Soon, my new Pickups will be arriving, then, I hope it sounds a little more like your Duesenberg (gonna install a P90 Humbucker sized in the neck)

Awesome guitars man. And your video about strats and their tone is also veryyyy good
Never heard such as opinions. Perfect.

Apparently mines a strat. Everytime I don’t have one I go back and buy another 3 time sunburst. Favorites so far have been a 2012 American deluxe n a 96 MIJ.

I know this is a really old video now but I thought I’d chime in; was inspired by the beauty of your red strat and I got myself a Rapier 33 leftie model in red as well. Not quite a strat but modern recreation by Alan Entwistle. If you can check it out (they do right hand models of course) and give your thoughts on it, it would be incredible as I think it’s undervalued at its price. I think it’s Uk only though!

Soooo… which guitar style do you like best? …lol. (Probably get a very diplomatic answer here to not offended your sponsors.) I heard some things you don’t like - heavy, bulky, neck thickness, harsh humbuckers, red… Heard some things you like - how it plays and feels. Does the music piece you’re playing affect your choice (obviously) but which guitar for which style in your opinion?

Paul recently my PRS DGT started doing the same as your Tele on the high E..very strange

Ответить
@JohnFoxBass
@JohnFoxBass - 21.02.2023 06:59

Just saw this video for the first time. Did you fix your high E issue? I am guessing that the nut slot was not filed correctly. It needs to be filed at an angle so that the string is only touching the nut at the very edge of the nut, closest to the frets. The nut slot should slope down at an angle from there toward the headstock, so that the string stays slightly above the nut for the rest of the way toward the tuner. That is most likely the cause, but if that turns out not to be the cause, then there must be a small burr on the saddle where the string passes over it. If you have a .010 nut slot file, you could lightly pass the file over the saddle in the spot where the string sits, maybe just once or twice, and the problem will probably disappear.

That certificate makes it sound like an anniversary edition. It's def no 59' orig or 89'.
The weird thing is that it is a custom COA instead of a standard edition COA.
Custom would only be if it was anniversary or actually from custom shop.
If it was anniversary though that certificate would state that 100%.

This is assuming the COA is even legit.
I know of many Gibsons that have been sold by stores that didnt receive a COA and just ordered/bought and forged the COA. This is why we used to brag to buy from us.

The headstock looks a little off too. The writing saying les paul is darker (more orange) than usual implying 1) ageing and sunlight exposure due to the different plastics or material used at the time. The toggle switch has the same characteristic 2) It may well be a fake/Gibson copy
I have seen many that would take a trained historian/expert to have a chance of telling and some which are literally so close you cannot tell.

My uncle was the sole importer for Gibson and Epiphone in the whole of Australia last 30 years. That looks to me imo like an imitation.

Either way, good news is some of the imitations are actually a better build and guitar than the one they are trying to copy. Take Ibanez Les Pauls from particular eras (this may be one), you cannot tell the difference.

Sound wise if it sounds and plays like a gibson, it plays brilliantly. So no matter what you have a great guitar that is a keeper.
I've played some les pauls that are just complete duds. Being hand made It took me 20 versions of my acoustic blues king to find the perfect one. A nice guitar is only judged by the person playing it really. Cheers Paul!

Still waiting and searching for my favorite can't live without guitars. I do believe each guitar player is uniquely built and formed for a particular guitar. While it may be hard to articulate why, when you find the guitar made for you, it is both physical and spiritual.
