I use brave for adblock.
ОтветитьThanks for reminding me to delete Acrobat Reader from my laptop and replace it with Foxit.
ОтветитьI love VLC! Recently from ashampoo they have a .pdf reader that for the first time they aren't nightmares to work with :-). But one of my favorite freeware programs of all times is Irfanview. I have used it for decades without an issue its a rare program that I endlessly praise. Its small fast plays and view everything (vlc is best for vids though) and decent edits on images as well. Hope it helps to all a wonderful day!
ОтветитьI didn't know half of the ones that should be avoided and only use acrobat and have no plans on changing that.
Ответитьdont use last pass
ОтветитьI personally use MPC-Home for all video clips and with the klite codec pack I can play all video formats including mkv's.
ОтветитьThere is only one place where your passwords are placed. In you Brain.
ОтветитьIE Explorer is still somewhat useful if you ever run into a site that limits you. Because explorer is no longer updated it doesn't know how to handle some of the newer tech (paywalls) and will just ignore the new code. Granted some pages don't render nicely, but if there's something you really want to read, it's worth using some disk space for.
ОтветитьOMG RealPlayer god that took me back, windows media player seemed to work better though.
ОтветитьThanx very much! SUBSCRIBED! 😎
ОтветитьI have known since 1995 that RealPlayer is subpar at best! 😅
ОтветитьI use keepass....locally
Ответитьim not a shill
but most of these problems are solved for free with opera browser
Sumatra PDF reader is FAR superior.
ОтветитьuBlock origin is too complicated to configure. I tried it and deleted it1 day later. Get ghostery instead.
ОтветитьEdge is absolutely amazing browser.
ОтветитьIf you just want to read PDF's, literally every browser can do that nowadays, no need for a specific program.
Windows 10 is still going to be supported until 2025 October.
This is just me talking about my favourites here but brave browser is Amazing. It removes ads that uBlock can't pick up, is chromium based and is a fantastic complement to uBlock in general.
There are some minor things you gotta watch out for though, like it uses a lot of RAM (Their motto is unused ram is unnecessary RAM) But it's easy to disable it in settings.
My only big gripe with it is that I've had a lot of issues with using the transfer stuff between devices feature, it's not based on chrome and you need a passcode to connect to the same "chain" but the passcode expires and I had to try multiple times to get it to actually synch.
Also if you only care about browsing the web Edge is really good actually. Just gets a bad rep because of it's early days.
Another 30-year IT guy (now retired) who endorses this list. Especially the final recommendation. I personally migrated from LastPass to BitWarden after that last major breech.
