I love how Midna and TwiLink are there with the "So many shades of grey line" because Midna goes from sarcastic end means all character, even using Link's friends to manipulate him, to genuinely wanting to help both the world of light and Twilight.

Ganondorf from the Wind Waker explains that one of the main reasons he wanted to invade Hyrule was to expand the domain of the Gerudo so that they wouldn't keep living in a cruel and unforgiving dessert

i thought this was going to go in a direction of the "What if the good guy is actually Bad" trope. But then it went for the age old question of "is killing an entire civilization morally acceptable because they are different from you?" acting as though link mass killing bokoblins is akin to a genocide, forgetting that they actively hunt and are directed to hunt humans, making them the instigators. it's good food for thought

I love that Dark Link in Ocarina of Time could be Link's villainous and evil thoughts about being used and not appreciated by the people that he saved turned to life. (That's just wishful thinking) Great animation and it played well. Love the scene of Link's showdown against Ganondorf in all of those games.

None of the three golden virtues are bad, but they can all be misused.

Actually the Goddeses Playing with them like Puppets makes no sense to me at all.

And to understand this you need to know about the Oracle Games:
In Oracle of Seasons&Ages we meet the Mortal incarnations of the 3 Goddeses, Nayru and Din got captured by evil forces to bring Chaos and pain to the respective regions of Holundrum and Labrynna.

And That's for one specific reason:
To use that Chaos in order to revive Ganon.
They are also targeted by the Demons since they gave up their divinity and manifest it into an Allmighty Artifact.

It's not a Super Smash Bros Game between the Goddesses, it is a war between the Gods (with the Golden Goddesses being mostly absent) and Demons, a war between two very mighty Tribes that unfortunally got lost in Translation Because Nintendo of America is the Fucked up when it comes to translating without removing the actual context, so instead of Gods versus Demons they made it into Hylia vs Demise only.

I wonder how Ganondorf is affected by this; is he getting tricked by his surroundings (i.e. Twinrova) to develope such hatred towards everything and 'voluntarily' become a 'puppet'?
In TotK the new sages have to choose if they want to accept their stones or not wich gives me the implication that there indeed is a choice in all this fate-destiny-thingy.

Honestly, I would kill to see a LoZ game where Link goes crazy or hell go the Chaotic-evil route, you could have him have the courage to break the cycle of rejuevenation. Aka: just get the evil link we all know he needs to have, at some point Link's shadow has to take the sword and smite all these evil gods and fairies that play with the hearts and minds of people. Cmon give it!

Tbh demise and Gabon are the villain can you imagine how many people he has killed and how many war crimes he has committed he caused a coo in the twilight realm helped turn all the people there into monsters then proceeded to merge the two dimensions together and in oot he slaughtered dozens of people people think ganondwarf is innocent he’s not he is literally the reincarnation of demises hate for the hero and in the adult time line he went on a murdering spree so much so the gods had to flood hyrule and he didn’t reflect on his actions and become a better person in wind Walter he just got smarter and link he helps people in his journey he is an actual good person and Zelda is just ok in botw to Totk she is a good person so in general link and Zelda good ganon bad

Seeing these comments makes me realise that so many of you don't understand the zelda lore.

Y'all are saying that ganondorf is to blame for everything but perhaps you don't remember that he, zelda and link are all part of a never ending cycle doomed to repeat itself.

Sure zelda and link will always win but demise's curse will always come back. Its pointless to celebrate victory when you fight and win the same battle countless times.

And i do believe that the three goddesses are to blame. Yes, they didn't start the cycle, demise did. However they've done nothing to stop it. There's no way the gods that created the world can't stop one demon.

Also, the one time the hylians asked for help from the goddesses was in the beginning of the adult timeline. They could've just killed ganondorf but they chose to flood the whole world and selecting a few survivors.

The goddesses made this world so they can play with humans so that they are not eternally bored. If they really cared they would have gotten rid of the curse in the first place.

So yes link zelda and ganondorf are clearly the victims in this story. The ending of the wind waker confirms it too. And no i'm not saying that the three of them are mind controlled or something. I'm just saying that they have to fight the same battle over and over again and that it's impossible for them to change their destinies.

So yeah if you think that zelda is a story about clear distinctions between good and evil, please read more about the lore.

I think this is an amazing animatic! Great attention to detail, and different generations of Zelda and link, like twilight, Hyrule warriors, botw. Also I’m a sucker for Midna so it’s a 10 from me!

I firmly believe that the endless cycle wearing on everybody’s souls. Zelda struggled with her powers, the master sword running on fumes, Demise becoming a mindless beast, Ganandorf willing to throw his humanity and sanity away to win, and Link serving the princess because she is the only thing left of his old life.

Fun fact skyward sword is at the start of the timeline because we get the first link first Zelda and demise who says that link's spirit will have to keep fighting demises hatred through an infinite loop

this entire thing makes me wonder if we will ever get a game from a reincarnation of ganon/curse of demise perspective where they don't want to be the bad guy but at the end they realized that the curse may have started it but the goddesses are letting it continue and at the end there puppets playing a part in a play

No need of debating the essence of good and evil, just go out and build some war machine and slay some enemies and make some fun and feel happy.

I really want to see an LoZ story where Link, Zelda and Ganon finally decide enough is enough and forsake The Goddesses, maybe even destroying them or cutting them off from the world and in turn Destroying The Triforce, finally ending the cycle

I know that many think the three golden goddesses just make the cycle renew again and again for the sake of it, but i think its so that they can have more control of the cycle, if they have a hand in each of the pieces its easier to control than if there were 4 pieces and one went astray (if someone else was Power, they would have 4 pieces in this "play", and Demise's Hatred would become a fourth wild piece)
so they take a grasp of all the most important pieces to keep things properly under their control, inside this enclosed cycle
