As a self taught music historian Nina Simone came along at a time when african american woman couldn't get accepted into prestigious music schools she originally wanted to become a classical pianist but was denied entry into Carnegie Mellon school of the arts so she left the country and her music took a different direction and many of the songs she performed were inspirational songs that she wrote from her heart to help progress the discrimination that was prevalent in her time and bring awareness to it may Nina Simone RIP she will never be forgotten to the people that her music really meant something to
