Erik Mollenhauer, a nationally recognized science educator with a passion about the environment, spoke on Tuesday, June 28, on the theme "Reconnecting with Nature in a Digital World". His presentation challenged the audience to explore what happens to our humanity when we separate ourselves from nature.
Mollenhauer is a past recipient of the New Jersey Presidential Award for Science Teaching.
This speech was sponsored by the South Haven Speakers Series. The series, with the theme "Issues, Innovations and Ideas Shaping Our Lives", was launched in 2015 for the purpose of informing citizens by stimulating thought on significant issues of the day through presentations by non-partisan experts not otherwise available to South Haven.
