You forgot to mention the SKY-HIGH State and Local taxes, among the highest in the nation, that have largely contributed to the population loss?!

democrat politicians drained all of the tax dollars with their pay to play job system. the civil service testing system is rigged. you have to have a political ‘hook’ to get your bame picked off the list. charlie greenan runs that list and even if you scored high on the test, someone who is politically hooked is going to get the job over you. all nepotism. keep voting dem and keep watching Buttflo go to shit

Dude Buffalo is a car city, take away their cars they'll go where they can park. The train went to nowhere because of racism, do your research. You can go anywhere in the world and find bad things, from Paris to L.A. I've been to both, but hey you do videos without knowing any background on the history, so who cares what you think. Nothing wrong with Metro rail, stupid only because Buffalo had a metro rail once that went around the entire city, but GM did what? Racism , nepotism, and the mob sucked the life out of Buffalo, and then the EPA and model cities finished the job. And a white person would not want to live in Masten Park.

Buffalo has a lot of great architecture and some nice old neighborhoods. Problem is there’s few people living downtown or in the immediately surrounding areas. Gotta entice the middle and wealthy class back into the city from the burbs.

Bike lanes and streetcar/LRT lines won’t do a thing without people. First you have masses of people crowding the downtown then you do the streetcars/LRTs and bike lanes to move them more efficiently, which is debatable anyway.

I’m from (relatively) nearby downtown Toronto and while our city is packed with residents, we still managed to destroy our main street in the blocks where it should be its most vibrant by building a mall (Eaton Centre) in the 70s, which drained all the businesses from Yonge St into it. So, don’t build a big downtown mall Buffalo! It won’t help. Work on getting people back into town as residents.

Wow! You are standing inside the absolutely beautiful council chambers of Buffalo City hall, a nationally recognized amazing building for architecture, (and the United States Achitecture Association has had their annual meetings in Buffalo twice recently because of our amazing architecture), and you marvel ABOUT UNDERSEAT HAT RACKS!!!?)... while an absolutely gorgeous stain glassed sky-light sits right above your head? Also, you didn't notice the incredible murals in the lobby? Why is there no mention of assets like the Albright-Knox art gallery, or the vibrant art scene? What about the 3 different Frank Lloyd Wright homes in Buffalo? I agree w/ the problems we have downtown, but that began in the early 1970's with all of the malls being built more in the suburbs and the stores downtown were devastated by that. And speaking of the burbs, yes Buffalo, the city proper has only around 300,000 people, BECAUSE many people fled to the suburbs. The metro area has 1.3 million people. There's more that you missed as well. Like the amazing restaurants. The profusion of new craft breweries with restaurants downtown, the resurgence of Hertel Avenue that is lined w/ independent stores and businesses, just like Elmwood Ave. (Buffalo is so depressed that somehow, miraculously, people have the $ to open independent businesses all over the place). You can go to any Northeast city and find poor neighborhoods and downtowns struggling to make a comeback. Try not just loping in here for ONE DAY...and you think you know the area, lol. I have lived in 4 different states and seen every big city in America, (almost)...and there's negatives to all. How about the fact that you can drive anywhere in the Buffalo metro in less than 30 min.? And all of the other nice neighborhoods within that 30 min. drive YOU MISSED?

Metro rail is NOT FINISHED. Nor does it cost what unlimited road and airport building does! Your negative video is for clicks. It could have been done by a oil company. Yes projects are in the billions today. All of them.

Its already under construction on the light rail and its incredibly busy with the south campus students going downtown. You're a tourist....you know nothing. Your video is terrible Buffalo is very vibrant. I don't know why you are comparing it to Detroit either? The light rail has almost 3 million riders per year. Dude don't just make a trash video. Do some research. People who dont know may like your content but anyone within 500 miles know your video is bs.

I do believe Buffalo is heading in the right direction but it is moving very slow. It's mainly strangled by nyc area policies and tax rates. Overall, upstate NY needs the playbook from NH to survive.

Buffalo needs aggressive plans to give businesses generous incentives to establish business operations there.

You won’t get a job opportunity here unless you run your own business and even run your own business won’t get you far in this dump because everyone’s cheap and doesn’t have money everyone’s on drugs everyone’s a crackhead Segregation is very real I’m not gonna sugarcoat like this guy in the video or any other videos. I actually live in Buffalo. Everyone is rude. Don’t expect to get a date with any girl out here there’s not much to do.

I have been to Buffalo, New York that was back in 1990. I went with a friend who was from Niagara Falls, New York. I thought Buffalo was beautiful city back then, but I know Buffalo and Niagara Falls, can be brutal in the wintertime. I live in Los Angeles, California and born and raised here. Now Los Angeles is getting bad with crime here and homeless camps everywhere in the city. Let me tell you I just flew back from Guadalajara, and Mexico City, Mexico. I have not been to both cities in Mexico since 1980. OMG! both of those cities are beautiful and growing and very clean. The homes and high-rise condos are really very beautiful there. I remember when my father told me in 1980 go and see how the poor people live in Mexico. Now I am like what poor people. Mexico makes BANK from tourist coming from all over the world. It just amazes me how the United States and Mexico compare now.

magic of Buffalo is in the surrounding area. Beautiful scenery, low costs, low traffic, full amenities, low crime, perfect summers, a great place to raise a family. The city itself is nothing special, but does have a few bright spots, for example Elmwood village and the Outer Harbor. imo Quality of life beats the traffic and madness of most major cities.

Listen The pull of Buffalo, it is not downtown. It's the surrounding areas and all of the things there are to do skiing in ellicotville fishing in lake ontario and lake erie, weekend getaways in quaint, little boutique villages.
And local towns like West Seneca, East Aurora.
Lockport, Medina being 15 minutes from Niger falls and Canada, rich history, extending back to the 1600s yes, downtown is a flop. But until you understand what Buffalo is really about
Especially the wonderful people reserve your judgment and of course, going to bills, games and buffalo sabres, games and buffalo bisons games, always a good time

I grew up in NYC and left to take a break from the daily grind and ended up in buffalo. This was back in 2006, i only planned to stay for a while, im still here till this day in the depew area. I stayed for the lower cost of living, little traffic and not too many people. Since being here ive actually seen an INCREASE in the population and LOTS of renovations! He left out a lot of other things about the city(good things). My only issue is the weather, some years have been better than others. But still doesnt make want to move back to NYC!

I am a Buffalonian and I feel that Buffalo has hit many rough patches, but I am also optimistic that it will be revitalized. There are pros and cons to every city. Buffalo may not be the best city in America but it's home to some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet. GO BILLS!
