Absolute classic film and possibly one of the best war movies ever made...certainly in the top three. Try and watch the making off documentary "extra" on the DVD/Blue-Ray release.
ОтветитьRespect to Zulu soldiers who fought for their freedom and the British soldiers recklessly brought into a war with little experience with the enemy. From an Ashanti who’s people fought for our freedom and country too 🫡
ОтветитьThis is what the Russians should be singing to the Ukrainians as fellow braves and brothers. Guess it takes a Black brother to show respect in defeat.
Ответить50000 zulus showed up at the end with rifles and had all the tools to win the whole tlme ....but instead saluted them...
Classy....
Rorkes Drift makes Dunkirk look like a jolly jape at the seaside.
ОтветитьThey don’t make em like that anymore
ОтветитьI have watched this epic movie many times ,since I was a child. This was one of my father's favorite movies. One hell of a great movie😊.
ОтветитьThis is probably the only film that both sides respect the other in war
ОтветитьFabulous film😂
ОтветитьDitums😊
ОтветитьBut you never saw this the other way around.
ОтветитьChivalry
ОтветитьThis is one of the most classic movies I've ever seen. And I will always have respect for the zulu.Always, they were willing to fight and die for their land their people, their familys
ОтветитьEvery single member of parties like Black Lives Matter should sit and watch this film and realise it was never about black vs white, it was about greedy colonialist psychopaths thinking nothing of throwing the lives of brave fighting men (of both sides) away for their own soulless ambitions. As a Brit I'm disgusted by the actions of arrogant toffs like Chelmsford, but take my hat off to the Zulu and British soldiers, these were truly men of stern stuff.
ОтветитьShaka Zulu was a monster, but the Zulu culture is so beautiful and there people so brave
ОтветитьAnyone here read Legend by the late great David Gemmell?
It's a sword and sorcery fantasy, but I am absolutely sure it was inspired by Rorke's Drift.
To think 2024 is the 60th anniversary of this film!!! 😊😊😊
ОтветитьI get chills everytime they start singing...
ОтветитьId love to know what that last warrior represents. Perhaps letting their greatest warrior have the final goodbye?
ОтветитьOne of the most moving scenes ever, especially as a true story.
ОтветитьThey stopped because the British reinforcements were arriving to
ОтветитьTimeless. I return to it every once in awhile for this scene alone.
ОтветитьThe majestic soundtrack makes this movie special
ОтветитьSounds like Elland Road when the players walk out on the pitch.
ОтветитьRespect earned by both belligerents.
ОтветитьEven though this didnt happen in the real battle, it is a nice addition
ОтветитьThis scene did not happen in real life however I believe this is a long overdue salute and respect for fellow braves performed by the descendants of Zulus who went to war in 1879 on behalf of their ancestors
ОтветитьThe Zulus were also colonialists. Just the British were better at it.
ОтветитьTimeless
ОтветитьHighly recommended movie.
Ответитьsamo da bude film na srpskom i taman je film
ОтветитьThis film is so inaccurate, Michael Cain wasn't even born then.
ОтветитьUnironically this film made in 1964 is more respectful of African culture than the Black Panther films.
ОтветитьThis didn't actually happen in real life but was made up for the film.
ОтветитьWhat are you waiting for ? Come on !
ОтветитьI love this scene, it's heart warming :)
Ответить"YOU'RE ALL GOING TO DIIIIEEE!" - The crazed preacher.
ОтветитьThe big bad nation of Britain.. the ones who gave education., and hospitals and stuff like 5hat
ОтветитьI think that the Zulus knew that they were going to win easily so they just surrender out of respect for the Welsh 😢😢 touching end 🔚🔚
ОтветитьBless them to actually salute the Welsh soldiers
ОтветитьWhat a great movie!! It chokes you up!! 🥺 This movie is when I developed a crush on Michael Cain as a child!! 😍
ОтветитьApparently the Zulus really weren't saying that. They were basically saying they were going past but not to shoot.
ОтветитьAlways remember this. We may each come from different cultures different backgrounds different families but must never forget that wether your the lowest native to the highest ranking general in an army. You always show respect to thoes who display perseverance in the face of impossible odds.
Ответитьwhat was the song the zulus where singing ?
ОтветитьMichael Caine's acting in this scene is nothing short of brilliant. That laugh at recognizing the Zulus are saluting him isn't one of relief, its of everything he'd ever conditioned himself to be coming crashing down. After enduring hell, he was momentarily faced with the immediate prospect of absolute death, only for that to immediately change. No prestige or rank or title protects one from the randomness of conflict and fate. It's basically a mental breakdown, though not as overt. He's clearly traumatized from his first action and can do little but be amused at the absurdity of it all that the people that had thrown thousands of themselves to kill him suddenly want to show him "respect" in spite of the mass of bodies all around them.
ОтветитьTo get your butt kicked and giving respect after by the enemy....doesn't exist anymore
ОтветитьIs thus historical?
Ответить😅😅😅
ОтветитьAbsolute classic...just how a battle film should be made...no cgi, great cast and amazing musical score.
