After seeing bits and pieces of clips on the show dexter after just watching dexter new blood I was speechless dexter was so clever and all of a sudden he gets a sad ending in new blood new blood had so much potential now it’s like dexter would’ve been smart enough to change clothes and wash his face it’s like they gave him a sad ending on purpose

Here is the truth, but you cant handle the truth : The director of the show, told showtime that he wants to do a second season, showing that the last episode 10, was just a nightmare and it never happend, and wakes up in the woods, and after that it continous. But showtime dosent want to do that and cancelled it.

I liked the ending for this better than the original.

The New Blood ending was so much worse than the original. Something that few people thought was possible and they had nearly a decade to come up with it, whereas the original had to rush out back to back seasons and network interference jacked it up.

The way Debra went out in the original series was perfect. Unfortunately they did back to back seasons and the 8th season was rushed and sloppy, so the Debra scenario needed a little ironing, but it really was perfect and was the only way I could see the show and Dexter's overarching story going. It was that ongoing theme of anytime Dexter doesn't act on his need, bad things happen to those people he cares about. Almost like it's his destiny to kill bad people and when he doesn't bad things happen. This is why he has to either kill himself and/or ditch Harrison and Hannah. Of course the Lumber Jack thing f-d everything up. I personally would have loved if the original ended was Dexter ridding into the Hurricane (that is after all why there was a Hurricane on the day that Dexter was planned to have died). There's obviously a ton of symbolism with that.... but then if in the event they continued the series (because that was the excuse as to why the writers weren't able to kill Dexter), they could go with the story that we eventually got. Almost as if Dexter's destiny wouldn't allow him to kill himself... as though he attempted it but washed up on shore. But either way in the 8th season they were rushed beyond belief and admitted to simply running out of time and after significant network interference they put together the horrendous final 3 minutes on a whim due to network interference.... but this time around they had nearly a decade to put together an ending and did an atrociously bad job with the ending. And all the lack of class Clyde Phillips showed after the ending of the original as if to insinuate that he would have done better and this is what he ended up giving us... is embarrassing. So many things about the New Blood season don't make any sense and the ending was so sloppy and simply bad. The ending was so important this time around especially if you wanted to keep the show going and it's almost like they didn't consider that, until after it was over. The show is a goddamn goldmine it writes itself (even through Harrison had they not botched up the ending) as long as you don't go out of your way to botch it up.

Showtime is such a horrible network. They botch up all of their endings. If I was pitching a new show, I would be like any network but showtime. They interfere a lot, they have no flexibility. They only see things in the immediate short term, etc. They didn't understand that the 8th season was so important to the shows legacy and their money (they've lost so much of their long term profits because they rushed out the final season and they did it again with New Blood).

If harrison and dexter ran off at the end of the season lots of people would have tuned in for season 2.

No one cares about the lady cop or decrees son …They wee extras in the new dexter season and did not win over true fans ….

I can't stand the ending of New Blood. It was made a point multiple times over that Dex would do whatever it took to preserve his own life, above all else. Hell he murdered a cop visciously via blunt force trauma, and I'm expected to believe he would just tell his son "aw whatever just shoot me"??? I was beyond let down.

The reason why I love Dexter so much was because it was so fast paced and funny at times. I have a hard time watching a slow or movie if it’s slow paced. New Blood is nowhere close to the greatest of the original but this one season was okay. It was so damn slow so I’ll never rewatch it, I can rewatch season 1-5 all the time. The ending was sad but it made better sense then the original ending of him going into the storm.

John Lithgow was pretty scary in the movie cliffhanger, oldy but a goody..😁

I hated the ending of Dexter New Blood. The show had its flaws but I hoped for several more seasons.

Personally... New Blood was hard to watch. I don't think the supporting players were anywhere near as compelling or interesting as the original cast. Think they tried to work a lot in in a few short episodes and it didn't all work well at all. Too many holes and too many strange reactions. Think Angela was a major misstep as well. I had to work really hard to make my way through it all. And I was not feeling the ending at all either. Just so much there...and it didn't work for me at all. I love Michael C Hall... and I hoped for better, I really did... I tried...but, I will never watch the New Blood series again. Too phony!

I enjoyed the entire season but for the last 15 minutes or so. Killing Logan was so out of character and never getting to see Dexter and Angel come face to face were big mistakes.

This entire show has terrible writing.
Why was that evil environment killing billionaire introduced but nothing came from him?
The whole thing with Kurt pretending to have found his son was weird. All of a sudden the investigation shifts to Angela being suspicious of Kurt hiding something because of an area they don't want to search and then we all forget about the son's disappearance story.
How does Kurt get locked up and jailed with DNA evidence then walks away scotch free after he just tells a weak story?
Why does Dexter have to kill the Coach? There had to be another way, then having to leave the jail cell at that exact moment
How does it even get to this point of Angela realizing Dexter is a serial killer and Dexter being so oblivious? In the past he was 2 steps of everyone and would get rid of evidence when anyone was suspicious. Angela was suspicious of Dexter and doing research on Dexter for couple of episodes but Dexter was completely oblivious to it the entire time, and never sensed anything from Angela?
Why does Harrison do a total 180 after realizing his dad killed his coach he just met couple months ago. Especially when he was in on his serial killer plans couple episodes back.
Why does Angela have to pretend she killed Kurt when it could have been just framed as Harrison self defense?
Should I even get into Harrison's school life?
Literally slashing and framing his friend then never hearing about that again?
Harrison literally choked that varsity guy Zack in the neck and they still end up being friends.
Also why the Hell is dexter a serial killer going after someone who makes drugs or distributes drugs? Cause your kid who took drugs at a party willingly, now the guy who made that drug deserves to die?

I liked how they ended Dexter with him being killed by his son. Dexter needed to die. And 'New Blood' was darker and you no longer felt like Dexter was a good guy, but that you saw that he was indeed a serial killer and by his own code, deserved to die. He killed innocents. I don't think that it should continue past this point. This resolves all the issues and makes the viewer uneasy with cheering on a serial killer. Michael C Hall was excellent throughout the whole series.

I wish I had missed Dexter season 8 and New Blood in its entirety...

There were so many unanswered questions in this series. I wish they would have just made a new series where Harrison was the star and have Dexter make a Cameo.

I actually liked New Blood very much...until Harrison appeared.
And the ending...well, I better stop here before I start swearing now.

Knowing how it will end is one thing...but working from the ending of a season to the beginning is so silly. You don't know what you have until you complete the script. If they had, they would not have rushed the season into that ending like they did. New Blood could easily had been 3 seasons if done smart. Unlike some voices here, however, I'll take season 1 of New Blood over the last 4 seasons of the original Dexter any day.
