IMHO reviewing pre-production machines is a bad idea.
1. The buyer gets a different machine from the one you reviewed == your review is null & void.
2. You've become a 'free' testlab for the designer / manufacturer.
3. Not every 'upgrade / fix' the designer / manufacturer makes is an improvement.
== = ==
Side by side reviews, though useful, have one big drawback:
Comparing machines from different price-ranges / feature-sets is like comparing a Lada and a Ferrari == they both can be used to do your daily shopping... >> This sell both short!

And btw K1 has root access to klipper so you are not forced to just creality slicer ! im sorry but im not giving you my sub ! research and non bias reviews are my thing to sub to ! you call the k1 one a bambu clone without thinking hmm maybe k1 is just a corexy ! you forgot how many issues bambu had on launch? how can you compare k1 to bambu that had more time on the market?

If you prefer the SV06 linear rails you can just choose the upgrades when you buy it and you'll have an SV07 without rollers.

You can roll back firmware but it does need to boot to the menu so you can click "about" and update, Ive done it a couple of times.
You can make adjustments in klipper using fluidd console just open a browser on your pc, phone etc.
theres about the same gap inside as xmax 1 had. and it makes maintenance much easier.
filament at the back is my only annoyance dont like the filament at the back so I have it in a heater box at the side.
You can also add or change code in fluidd it has a console commant type system
Also qidi customer service is above and beyond awesome.
i had a cracked hot end, they sent another... took 4 days from china.. A smooth build plate got damaged when i removed a print, they sent me another.
they also gave me a $100 coupon for downtime I had because of it.
You can put any camera on the xmax3, the motherboard has a usb input... took me 15 minutes or so. you can view the camera on the fluidd console.
They also have a camera available on their site now.... installs the same way i mentioned
hreat company. they always get you fixed up properly.
BTW its easy to take the hotend off... takes me 5 min... but admittingly im used to it :)

given they have hardened steel nozzle hotends and hardened steel extruder gears available from bambu, does the p1s still have issues with abrasive filaments if you upgrade those. i know that is not something for the novice necessarily but i've built my own voron without issue before this seems a reasonable and cheap upgrade if it lets me get better experience with abrasives

The p1 series extruder gears and hotends are exactly the same as the x1, only in stainless steel. You can easily swap both of them out for hardened steel and have no issues at all with abrasives.

I like this kind of review - there's soooooo many near-clones that just quickshotting them is more than they deserve review-wise.
Now there's some standouts and firsts here and there which should be given more airtime - some of Sovol's recent products & Bambu Labs spring to mind here but these are few and far between. Yet another bedslinger from Prusa is yawn time, but the XL toolhead is very interesting from an engineering standpoint.

They definitely all need to be rated on the "can my mum print with them?" scale.

I’ve got a selfish request. I’m strugglin to pick a voron 2.4 kit. I want a fleet of conveyer belt bed 2.4’s to run around the clock.

Siboors cnc functional parts with all hiwin rails kit is quite intriguing to me. But LDO seems to have a lock on good build instructions. And I can’t find a comparison. Ur segment in this video is the closest I’ve found.

A siboor v ldo kit comparison video is what I’m lookin for. :)

Keep up the great work, it’s greatly appreciated…and ur really good it!

2 months x max 3 owner here: I like it, it's got it where it counts. Motors get hot af tho, so might not last as long as id like... Also QIDI doesn't do PETG, so there is no PETG profile... The generic one supplied is ... strange ...
Print quality is pretty good tho, speed is amazing. You really need a solid desk or shelf to put it on.

I like the comparison video. It's time consuming to hunt down and watch individual video reviews of the different printers. There is the problem with the fact that most of the reviews are by different people so one does not get reviews from the same reviewer making it harder to compare printers since each reviewer has their own style, content, and focus when they review printers. Last, even reviews by the same reviewer are a little harder to use for comparison because usually the different printer reviews are separated in time, meaning that one of the printers may be an older model being comparison to a current model of the other printer.

I would also like a head to head review of large volume printers since a the moment I need a printer that can produce large parts so I won't have to glue together several smaller parts.

It’s to bad can’t put a klipper screen and run mainsail on the p1s; I’m a big fan of standardizing processes and not to be able to use one platform for all of my printers really puts a big negative on the p1s, and not being able to run Obico for spaghetti detection has me putting the p1s on hold for now, unfortunate as I was really looking forward to pulling the trigger on one; I hope Bambu Lab joins the open source nature of the 3D printing community soon especially since they are using some aspects of it on their printer (klipper, prusa slicer)…little ironic, but maybe they will see the opportunity soon

Screw Anycubic for ripping ppl off. I found a deal on their site for a printer +10 rolls of PLA. I bought it and was going to give the printer to my young nephew who loves 3d printing and I'd keep most of the PLA.
After 3 months of calling, e-mails and them ignoring I took them to PayPal court and one day before my last day to file a complaint they then tell me if I drop the claim, they'll ship it all right out.. Haha ya right... Got my money back through PayPal though and bought my nephew the Sovol 7 and he's having a blast printing every pokeman out there lol.
