Erik did a fantastic job with this cover, he managed to bring in emotion of Dolly's original and keep the power of Whitney's version. He did a fantastic cover of Sabaton's Carolus Rex together with Tommy Johansson, I highly recommend checking it out. He has more great covers, like Headless Cross (Black Sabbath) and many more

Sorry for your loss my friend.I had a similar loss myself a month ago, so I know the struggles it leaves behind.
In my mind, Erik owns this song now. I'm sure you already hav found out that Erik already have done a song with Dan, but did you know that he recently sang with Tommy on a cover of Sabatons Carolus Rex?

So glad to see you back! We missed you! And though songs can bring painful memories they are also so very healing. Erik and Dan Vasc have done covers together.

Erik is awesome! Him and Dan did collab on a song and it’s epic! Check out ‘Breaking the Silence’ it’s a H.E.A.T cover they did together couple years ago.

I liked the song, how he arranged it, and how he sang it, but his throat showed a lot of tension when he was singing. That tension puts strain on his vocal cords. If you look at Dan Vasc for example, watch his throat, you will rarely see that sort of strain around his throat. He'll strain the muscles around his throat but the throat is almost always relaxed and he has a 4 octave range. That's the difference years of training makes. This guy sounds great now. I just worry about his longevity.

First of all, I was saddened when you posted a couple of weeks ago about your cousin's passing. It has to have been such a hard thing to have gone through ... still passing through. I wish you the very best.
Next, welcome to Erik Gronwell. Many others have commented about him, his accomplishments, and his amazing skills. I've had an enjoyable time learning about who he is ... followed the trail from Dan Vasc that led to Erik. He truly is an amazingly skilled musician and I hope you will search him out some more.
Finally, you had me with the saxophone! That instrument will touch my senses more than any other. There are tones that it produces that are so haunting and beautiful. Love it!!

Yes they have .Dan and Erik did Breaking the silence. And you must listen to Eriks I put a spell on you. I'm glad you checking Erik he has alot of wonderful songs. Dan and Erik are my favorites. But Tommy is in the mix and Erik and Tommy did one too.

And I will say, “No Erik doesn’t get this idea from Dan Vasc”. Erik has done “Breaking the Silence” with Dan Vasc and it’s basically Erik’s song, because he singing it when he was in H.e.a.t as lead singer. So it’s a cover for Dan Vasc, not for Erik.
This is Eriks Goodbye-friendship-love-song to “Skid Row” I will say. He loves those guys, but his health wasn’t worth joining the band longer. Sadly… But I know exactly what he means, because I’m sick my own. My body isn’t okay after lots of accidents.
But we leaving that for now.
And this was why Dolly Parton wrote this song. She wrote it to her friends in that band she was in. But when they broke up, she felt like this way and wrote it as a Friendship-love-song.💞🎶💞
