Fun video. I think the line between speed metal and thrash metal is so razor thin it’s nearly impossible to separate the two.
Anthrax were a local band for me growing up and we always called them a thrash metal band. What separated them from Metallica and Slayer at the time was the vocal style which puts them more squarely into the speed metal camp despite the fact that we called em a thrash metal band.
Raven, like Venom, Tank, etc were a New Wave of British Heavy Metal. I tend to agree that Agent Steel were the epitome of speed metal.
What would you say about Abbattoir? I know fans will fight to the death over whether they were speed metal or thrash. I say thrash, as does original vocalist Steve Gaines.

No, Slayer is not speed. It's pure thrash.
