ОтветитьLots of good information here, thanks
Ответитьthank you for not wasting our time
ОтветитьGotta love a useful video, thanks man
ОтветитьGood video. A couple of points to add:
1. Match speed rating of tire to your vehicle. There may be numbers at the end of the size, something like 99W or 98V. The letter is the speed rating. Going over on speed rating is good. Going under is not good.
2. Tires with dressing on the side walls will crack rubber sooner than later and should be avoided.
3. If picking at the junkyard, look for tires that are mounted and holding air. When dismounted, inspect inside for hidden damage. A tire in an accident or driven while flat may show damage.
4. Major brands are always good. Unknown brands can be good. Look for country of manufacture. Thailand and Korea are good. That other very large Asian country is not good.
Fantastic summary and examples.
ОтветитьExcellent video!
ОтветитьWhat if there is cracking on the inside diameter
ОтветитьHi
i have two summer tires 205/60/16 made in usa uniroyal
with a thread depth of 10/32 looking like new .I know that the tires are 12 years old and are not safe to drive since the meterial degrades over time(they were kept in the garage always)
i got me an A shore hardness tester and i measures between 65 and 78 of hardness.
are they safe to drive after seing these results i wonder?
ofc there is no cracks or bumps
I'd never buy Michelin for one single reason. They dry rot really fast!
ОтветитьTREAD...Tread...Tread...like the tread on your shoes...
ОтветитьGreat video. Gracias

ОтветитьLike everybody said straight to the point no bullshit, trust goes along way these days definitely got yourself a new subscriber!
Ответитьgreat video!
ОтветитьAgree with most things in the video, except the talk about Chinese tyres, dude chinese manufacturing has come a long long way, There's nothing wrong in buying decent quality budget chinese tyres.
Yes ofcourse they wont be best for some racing car tyre, they aren't designed for that purpose. They'll have some minor inferiority compared to brands like Michelin, Pirelli, continental etc, mainly the braking distance in the wet can be slightly bigger on cheaper tyres.
But other than that, they give a lot lot better value for money.
I feel like I received a PhD in used tires. Amazing video dude, thank you.
ОтветитьWhat a good price for a Used Tire for a Nissan Sentra 2017. I payed $60 in NYC FOR each tire
ОтветитьDon't buy used tires.
ОтветитьTires wear from 10/32 to 2/32, that is 8/32 usable wear.
If you buy new tires when reaching 4/32, you use 6/32 of tread. So, you only use the 3/4 (6/8) of the legal wear, basically you spend 33% more money for the tires, probably increased your safety for 2-3X or more.
Buy new quality tires, drive it gently, anticipate the traffic conditions and avoid both hard acceleration and braking, that will NOT only prolong your tire life, brake pad life, but also save fuel cost.

ОтветитьGreat presentation and easy to understand. Thank you!
ОтветитьExcellent video. You just saved me from possible making a wrong decision. Thanks, brother!
ОтветитьThanks for providing all the detailed information in this video! I actually bought 2 used tires this week, different brands (Bridgestone & Goodyear) but the same size- 215/55 R17, the recommended tire size for my car.... I really wanted to buy 2 of the SAME exact tire, but the shop didn't have 2 of the same "used", unfortunately....
But I did choose 2 of the "newest looking" tires they had in my size & I made sure to check the date on them! 👀
Can you use normal metrics? Like mm? Who knows what 10/32 of what it is????
