I’ve got a rebuilt Rocket 350 paired with TH350 in a 1977 Buick LeSabre Sport Coupe, makes for an awesome quick car. Not sure why so many people are sleeping on the 70’s coupes but turning 70’a trucks into muscle.
There’s some awesome cars from the 70s they just need the emissions ripped out and a little engine tweaking and they’ll blow away any 70s-80s pickup that has the same setup.

A 700-R4 is a 350 with overdrive added !! what's the difference ?? It's architecture was based on the 350

In my humble opinion the 700R4/analog 4L60 is better than the TH350 and TH400 transmissions. BUT I can say they're are some good electronic transmissions like the 8L90 and 6L90. They're both pretty stout.

All I gotta say is the red one was EATIN

Swapping out the LG4 305 for a GM crate SP350/357 and the 700R4 in my 85 TA for a TH350, I'm still going to keep the 700R as well that way I can just swap trannys when I want and swap in the 700R if I want to do a road trip sometime or keep the TH350 for just an evening cruise.

man i love my longbed but a shortbed seems like the perfect wheelbase to have fun in. My jeep is too short for HP and longbed isnt as agile

Guys....burnouts are cool but that shows me nada about every day driving. How is it at 45 mph? How about 75mph? How does it shift and is it a comfortable ride? i had a th350 and I wrapped out going 60 at 6000rpm....it sucked. So the 700r4 has 4 gears not 3. How is that for you?

I have a th350 in my 90 obs single cab chevy has a 5.7 350 4x4 tbi not sure on the gearing ive only had the truck for a year.but highway speeds 75-80 im barley on the gas and rmp is really low i taken it to 90 and still low rpm i havent ran past 100 dont need any more tickets going against my cdl 😂..but i am doing a lift and 35" tires what gear ratio would ya recomend?..the truck is my work truck when i pull my mobil wash 12' trailer with a 300 gallon tank with all my wash equipment..it pulls fine but i want a little more power down low.i have ordered a dual plane manifold and i picked up some vortec heads from a friend for dirt cheap just dont know what style carb i want to run i want to keep it about 6-650cfm..its just a budget build a little extra power to compensate for the heavier tires

I just got my dream 1984 Chevy k10 Scottsdale step side lifted & paired with a 350 crate and the 700r4 - 3” dual exhaust turbo flow… it’s sweet

Would've been better if you did a swap for each comparison instead of 2 different trucks with potentially different engines and suspension. This is not a comparison at all.

Friend of mine borrowed my 700r in my 89 to pull some bushes out of his front yard. Needless to say, he went missing for two days because he damn near pulled the county across the stateline some 200 miles down the street. Badass transmissions for sure.
