Apple Watch Ultra 2 vs Apple Watch Series 9 // Twice the Price = Twice the Features?

bought the ultra 2 simply because it is mind blowing for me to have a smartwatch, from apple, that I can use, for scuba diving, at 40m deep in sea water. And yes, I started diving last year, so I don't have any diving computer bought, hope it doesn't have bugs with the Ocean+ app tho. It's not even expensive if you're going to use it as a diving computer, a good diving computer with Bluetooth connectivity costs almost as much as this watch.

I got the SE 40mm and I’m happy I did, its sooo light, still extremely performant compared to the apple watches I remember

When the mapping is as detailed as on the Garmin Phoenix, I’ll be buying the Apple Watch for sure. Until then, I’ll be using either the Phoenix or the Enduro series.

If Apple Watch could have Garmin battery life and the ultra was a bit smaller would be the best smart watch ever made . Battery life is a big issue.

I bought the first Apple Watch. It was okay. Rebought a series 3. Gave up and went back to analog. Bought an SE version last year for work. Liked it and saw the potential!. Bought an ultra 2 on Monday. Used the siren to scare off a potential car-jacker in our back lot. Screen is insanely big! You can comfortably text without being a weirdo dictating to your hand. The finger tap thing seems gimmicky. But happy for the battery and screen size. I hate my phone. Happy to feel comfortable to leave it at home while walking the dog or running to the store.

hk9 ultra 2 is $30 trust me ... i will say it again, trust me you wont be disappointed, works on android and apple , feels and works stupi*** good , been honest only down side is not truly waterproof and the hearth monitor is 0% accurate. and that's it... but i can let that slide because is $30 smakaroos , battery last about 3 days on the watch and yes i know its not the real thing. but as long as you are not fooling yourself into thinking is the real thing who fu** cares its a 30 dlls cheap replica watch that will surpass your expectations 100% i guaranteed it. there's no flaws with it if you just want a very good smartwatch that can do pretty much everything.

edit: but also if you want to buy the real deal the original apple watch then by all means you do you brother or sister go ahead its a free country 😉 and we all have different opinions about things have a nice day

Great video! It would be nice to creatively display any dimensions on-screen when you are listing and comparing them for any future videos. I upgraded from a Series 4 to the Ultra 2 and it's been a dramatic improvement across the board, and re-ignited my love for the Apple Watch in general. Also the Ultra 2 definitely feels more premium and handsome than the standard design.

I had the original SE and I wanted a new Apple Watch with faster processor and Sapphire glass screen. I was looking at the Sapphire Series 9 that only comes in stainless but the price difference between that and the Ultra 2 was only $50, so it was a no brainer to go for the Ultra 2.

there is so many videos out there making pointless comparisons. Thank you for the short and very informative video on helping us make a decision, specially from the point of view of someone who ACTUALLY owns the watches and is using them for more than talking to siri.

To be fair the series 9 in stainless steel is £749 so the ultra 2 does feel like a good deal

I am hesitating between Apple Watch 9 series or Ultra 2. Basically aiming to use it for my swimming workouts (4-5 times per week) and other types of sport. Any recommendation?

I have the ultra and it’s worth every penny. I use it everyday all the time. If you’re a lady maybe you should be a little concerned about the bulkiness other than that amazing.

Biggest thing for me upgrading over the 4 was the storage space love that the series 9 can now actually hold all of my 2000 songs and not just 800 or so

Hi Des, with the new ultra 2 and new watch os, is there a way to measure rest time while doing intervals on the track with the Apple Watch ultra (using the action button)? I understand that I can set an interval workout with the workout app, but sometimes I just want to freestyle a workout. Right now when I press the lap button within the stopwatch app, it will only show me the total elapsed time. Is there a way to see how much time has passed since I pressed the lap button so I know when to start my next interval?

PS. I do use the work outdoors app and I CANNOT use the action button to start a new lap which I thinks wastes the money that I spent to get that extra button ='(. This is why I specifically asked about the using the action button.

The flat screen of the Ultra cuts down on distracting reflections you see on the curved bezel edges of the 9.

After all those years ive finally bought my first AppleWatch, the Ultra 2. Since the first version AppleWatch was always too small for me, now im happy that the Ultra series is the biggest & has much masculine tough look. I love it.

everyone says buy the one you need not the one you want. but at the end of the day, they all choose the one they want. lol, people, buy ultra, it is the best.

I realized that, with the price of the S9 spec I want (45mm, stainless steel), I could just pay a bit more to get an Ultra 2 with substantially longer battery life, so I did just that.

So no change on the speaker ??? I would hope for that kind of money they could put a better louder speaker in the watch.

Arguably Twice the Durability though?! Unless you go up to the 9 in stainless steel which pretty much makes the Ultra 2 a no brainer in titanium with Sapphire glass and battery life

picked up the ultra two and sold the band in 2 days after i got it. what a horrible waste of RnD to make these shitty bands

On my old series 7, I would routinely kill the battery going out for a bike ride if I also had it playing music. It was often near dead after 2 hours with those demands. By any chance, do data exist for similar stress loads for the series 9 and/or ultra 2? Thanks again for your work.

I got the Ultra and I love it. Its my first smartwatch.

The ultra simply looks much more masculine.
Also the flat face cuts out distracting overhead light reflections which you see on the edges of the non Ultra.
But the Ultra is too chunky and not worth double the S9.
I will just save my bullets.
Maybe there will be an Ultra mini later.

Ultra 2 cellular does NOT work when iPhone is off UNLESS you toggle off WiFi and Bluetooth on the watch. Apple needs to fix this.

still wearing 5 have no desire to upgrade till my watch dies. from 1-9 the design are the same crap boring design. Apple has the capability to redesign it but they wouldn't do it and shoving the same crap to the people and knowingly ppl will still buy it or the game is you want a newer design then pay twice the price, could have easily redesign to ultra watch look in aluminum and smaller size.

2nd hand Ultra 2 is the way, then. You’ll have a watch for the next 6 years without any hiccups visible.

İf you buy 9 as Steel and steel bracelet, then series 9 price is same as ultra !

Isn’t it crazy how battery life is so important to people and Apple knows that they charge $400 extra for a watch that does almost exact same things as the $400 cheaper one except the battery life is better.
