ОтветитьThis explains why I laugh when terrible things happen to me.
My coping strategy is to look at myself from a distance.
I have confused alot of people...
The opening statement let me know this video was made BC (before covid) 😆
ОтветитьThis seems to describe Rodney Dangerfield perfectly: Unexpected horrible things alledgedly happening in the past to someone you know only because you see thembut barely know them so you know hey're unlikely to be truthfully hurt?
ОтветитьExcellent explanation of what makes things funny. Wow. Good topic and good examples. The speaker is very deliberate and keeps it ...well....funny !!

ОтветитьFarts are always funny.. until its not just a fart, then it turns into a situation.. not a benign situation either..
ОтветитьWhat a long, solemn humorless discussion of humor.

ОтветитьMe with the 21st century humor:
ОтветитьThis also explains why I laugh A LOT, because I see a lot of benign violation in a lot of situation that my friends think a malign situation. I often laugh in inapropriate times, making jokes in a funeral, making jokes when someone died to accident etc etc. The only one way to not make me look bad in public is to hold myself to not say anything when that inapropriate times occurs. Even when I want to laugh so badly, I will just try to hold my laugh because all of people will find it inapropriate. That is why I love wearing face mask, they will not know that I was gigling laughing at "inapropriate" thing that occurs.
ОтветитьWow it is explained why sensitive people doesn't good at handling jokes, It is because what we see as benign violation, they see it as malign violation. That is people need to learn how to handle jokes by being open minded, learn more thing, see the world more and expand your view.
ОтветитьIt doesn't "beg the question," it raises or leads to a question. You are at TED--supposedly a group of highly intelligent people--so what's to be gained by demonstrating you are as uneducated as the rest of the pundits on TV? What's next in your misuse of the English language, confusing when it's correct to use "less" and "fewer?" Sad. NO STANDARDS USA.
ОтветитьComponents of successful humor: Benign violation, not hurtful to begin with, with distance, alternative meaning. Irma Bombeck said: There is a thin line between laughter and pain, comedy and tragedy, humor and hurt
ОтветитьI think I understand why I don't find humor funny as often as most people do. If a person struggles to learn and consistently follow social norms, they are laughed at. When someone else intentionally makes the same mistake and receives supportive laughter, it feels like privilege, not humor.
ОтветитьHumour is possibly the most unifying aspect of human reality. Even things like music vary a lot culture to culture.
Ответитьthis is it. this is what comedy is. he literally cracked the code to humor. scientists been trying to figure this out for decades and failed but he did it
ОтветитьThis Boulder guy is very gifted at Not Funny. I hope he is an exception among the rest of Boulder guys.
