Halo Infinite PC Performance Guide

An actual in-depth performance guide for both competitive and casual gamers with extensive testing and the person actually knows what they're talking about? What a rarity.

Great video, a couple of questions:
- Halo Infinite sometimes randomly hiccups (1 ~ 2 FPS or sometimes goes down the drain, Infinite is the only game that behaves like this.) for me with a framecap, is this an engine issue since I use an external framerate limiter?
- What are your thoughts on RTSS' Scanline Sync for preventing screen tearing?

Great vid. With your high end PC and 4090 video card, any reason not to have high settings on everything? I don’t think your monitor would be able to keep up anyway.

This was really good! Shows off another part of the development aspects of games. Really liked the highlights for gameplay settings, especially for HUD. For a 37 minute video the content was covered very well and didn't drag on over 1 topic! Cheers!

so much of my poor performance over the last year was because of my cpu. thought i was doing a good thing getting a 14900K. game was crashing every step of the way until i figured out that it was the cause. after updating motherboard bios and lowering the cpu limits, i was able to finally play again. thanks for these tips, will implement some of these next!

How about my 5700x3d? Does this cpu need to park cores as well?

any tips for keeping these settings forever? halo inifinite has also recently started resetting my settings when i start the game. it will switch to a different monitor and reset all the video settings to ultra.

qq with the screen must be clean, does that mean having other applications on another screen can impact performance?

My GPU sounds like a rocket taking off only when I play Infinite.

I'd like to play the game on 100% res. and then cap my frames to whatever I can steadily get but my game crashes way more frequently while running 100% res, any tips for that or I'm just shit out of luck wanting to play on 100%?

game is using about 95% of my cpu when playing only infinite, this issue happened overnight not sure what happened. now the frames flucuate by 100 fps every time and i get a nasty stutter even after using these fixes. any solutions? like 3 days ago the game was running perfect no issues

I have one question. I set up everything like you said in the video. Im playing on an lg oled tv. Its 120 fps max. But if I set the max framerate to unlocked, it shows 220-240 fps. HOW? (Only in-game. My tv shows constant 120).

phenomenal video - i have the same setup as you do 4090/7800x3d and am curious to know why you cap at 240 when you have a GPU that can handle much more? you mentioned frame timing / least spike activity...is this that much more important over frame rate for a consistent aiming experience?

have you tested Nvidia reflex support through the latest RTSS update that happen awhile back now? curious where your thoughts on that are because i struggle trying to get off of it. long story short i have a 3070ti with a 12700k but im struggling with latency issues no matter what I do lately

After I did this stuff I turned on MSI Afterburner and overclocked my GPU a little bit and got another 10 frames on top of the 10 I got from doing this. 10% gain overall!

Just a random curiousity, but is there a reason you have HDR not shown/enabled ? Iv noticed a few things pertaining to HDR + other certain settings which starts to present artifacting or visual stutters and visual static so to speak. (mainly around scraped areas on armors, coatings, kits.

god tier video, insane how many things are still bugged with the in game settings. Quite sad knowing they'll probably never be fixed either.

Do you use the latest Nvidia drivers? I'm currently on 560.94 which works fine but wasn't sure if it improved the load time into the game. Also you getting the 5090? Can't wait for the huge announcements on the 7th Jan ie GPU, CPU and the newer monitors with display port 2.1
