I exercise more than before also.
I used to eat about 90% fruit.
Now it's about 90% fat and no fruit.
The only difference is the amount of food I'm eating, it's a lot less.
my wife and I are new to Keto diet and its been 6 days now and we felt great so far and not tired and not as hungry we used too. My wife like snacking but now she has stopped snacking and try to stop on sugar. Thank you so much to Dr Berg for introducing Keto Diet and for good info and explanation on the diet. We wish we have known this diet long time ago.

ОтветитьYou're recommending 20 to 40 g of fat per meal. Is this recommendation for a person who's starting out in keto? To maintain weight during keto maintenance the numbers need to increase to much higher per day. Is my thinking correct?

ОтветитьWith my height 182 and body weight 92kg i need to consume 2400 calories but 70% of that in fat would be like 186g of fat. But that's more then twice as much as said in this video? Am i doing it save if i only consume like 80g? Can someone maybe help me out?
ОтветитьIn other words, we should not be using these keto recipes that we find around that are full, and I mean full, of casseroles full of cheeses and extra fats. This suggested is actually a pretty moderate amount of fat per meal.
ОтветитьI didn’t understand one thing. Mr Berg told to eat twice per a day and consume 20-40 g of fats. Ok, it would give you 40-80 g of fats per a day. It means I will get 360-720 calories from fats. Based on his theory, proteins should be at around the same proportion, so 40-80 g of proteins give 160-320 calories. Total, 520-1040 calories per a day. Hmmm, where to take another 1000 calories to ensure your body gets enough calories to cover just physiological needs??? I’m not talking about people who do trainings, working hard, etc. Even eating 10 cups of vegetables wouldn’t cover the basic needs (1000 calories - 40-45 tomatoes in average). Please explain.

Paused the video before it began to answer this for you: There is no correct answer. I've been eating carnivore for several years and everyone worries about fat and nutrient ratios before they begin. It doesn't matter. Just eat until you're satiated. This is an ancestral diet, meaning it's how humans evolved to eat. Were they concerning themselves with meat-to-fat ratios? Hell no. If you don't eat enough fat, you may still feel hungry. Eat some bacon or butter or something if you want. If you don't, you're not going to die. If you eat more fat than you need, then you'll have a looser stool.
We need to stop creating these complicated discussions that only cause more confusion. Eat the meat, and eat as much fat as you feel like eating.
The only concern would be is if you are someone who's repulsed by fat and doesn't want to eat any at all. You need some, obviously.
I make burgers with 80/20. I use the same 80/20 to cook "taco bowls" (seasoned ground beef) and I drain the fat from it. I eat ribs (beef and pork), I eat roast. If there is fat on my steak and if the fat tastes good, I eat it. If it's gross, I don't. Point is: I don't measure anything. Moreover, my labs nearly always show that I'm perfectly healthy. I say "nearly" because I recently found that I'm suffering from a significant folate deficiency. What did my doctor say? "Eat liver". Basically, "You know what you're already doing? Take it further". How much liver should I eat? Doesn't really matter either. I'm eating it regularly to get back on track, but then I'll be eating it seldomly, probably just a tiny bit mixed into my 80/20 so I can't even detect it, and probably not very often at all.
As long as you don't deprive yourself to an extreme degree, you're going to be fine, and you're going to be drastically healthier than everyone you know, and drastically healthier than you ever were on a "healthy" standard Western diet.

ОтветитьCouldn't figure out why I wasn't losing much weight on keto and then I realized that I am eating way too much heavy cream. I'd make myself an espresso type coffee with every meal with heavy cream which would end up being close to 200 grams fat at the end of the day from the heavy cream alone. 😮

ОтветитьThis doesnt make sense. 30 grams of fat 3 times a day is roughly 800 kcal. For an avarage person who needs 2500kcal this is only 33% of daily kcal. Since there is hardly any carbs should the rest be protein??? 60% protein??

ОтветитьI’m doing omad and first 3 weeks I noticed I wasnt loosing as fast as I thought . Im sure it was from consuming to much fat it adds up quick ! Just from avocado and olive oil and avocado oil, 5 olives, salmon, fatty meats, ( chicken thighs, lamb chop, rib, steak, ) and ricotta cheese, mozarella , cheddar.. tablespooon pumpkin seeds or pecans A little cream or tbsp whip cream on few strawberries .
I want to lower my fat to loose more weight . How much should I have? I’m doing low net carbs under 20

The problem is my coffee creamer. I love my sugar-free hazelnut coffee creamer but I know it's horrible because it has maladextrin. ОтветитьOk, what about butter? I am having it for my hormones. I consume 3 eggs everyday, more than 3 tablespoons of olive oil and a good portion of butter in my cacao (sugar free, no milk), There is fat in meat in my dinner also. Is this too much? I usually have that olive oile with grated carrot or cabbage, and notice I digest them better that wat. Should I reduce the amount, I think roughly the amount of oil is 8 tablespoons... I usually eat within 1-4 hours, nowadays more in 1 hour as I am trying to get really toned.
