So cool to see [REC] and Let the Right One In get the accolades they deserve! I'd rank both of those above many of those hugely popular American horror movies like The Conjuring, A Quiet Place, and Saw. I would've included these films over a number of others on the list:
Train to Busan
Dawn of the Dead
Smile
Midsommar

Films I would have included:
Insidious, Train to Busan, The Lighthouse, Conjuring 2, Sinister, Doctor Sleep and The Menu.

Others I would consider would be Don't Breathe, Smile 1 and 2, Terrifer 3, Alien Romulus, Scream 5, Nope, Us, Zombieland, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Hush, and Shaun of the Dead.

I still haven't seen a lot of the best horror films from 2024.

"Rec" and "Train to Busan" are the top 2 horror movies of the century so far. I love how the movies just have you at the edge of your seat for the rest movie once the horror sets in. That's what a horror movie should do.

I would also add the 1st "Terrifier" movie over the sequels. It's the best of the 3 so far, before they added their "Laurie Strode" type character which I don't like. I hate repeatable hero characters in horror. It makes the movie a bit bland despite the goriness.

In place of "Final Destination", I would include it's sequel, "Final Destination 2" as that is definitely best in the series. The 1st in the series isn't always the best in the series as "Friday the 13th" and "Nightmare on Elm Street series have proven with better sequels as in Parts 3, 4, 5 & 6 are better than the Original "Friday the 13th" and Part 3 in "Nightmare on Elm Street" is the better film.

I would also add a couple of Spanish films like "The Orphanage" and "The Baby's Room". Also a couple of French films, "Martyrs" and "High Tension". I would also add "The Green Room" and Sinister". All of these are great horror films.

There are two different Japanese Americanised movies I like, The Wraith starring Sarah Michelle Gellar and Dark Water starring Jennifer Connelly. In fact, the whole Wraith series is quite atmospheric.

In the found footage there are a few I like in that too. Cloverfield, and most of the Paranormal Activity franchise (except for the last in that franchise).

How on earth is Silent Hill not included? Or 1408? Or The Thing? Or Wrong Turn? Or The Hills have eyes? Chainsaw massacre? Hostel? Where are the classics at?

How was Sinister not on the list?

I thought Prey was good. It showed what the Predators were like in prehistoric time, before they got all high tech.
