Fort McKay Savanna Partnership Attractive Mix for Oil Sands Customers

Fort McKay First Nation has partnered with Savanna Energy Services Corp. to supply oilfield services to the Alberta Oil Sands. Fort McKay is located in the Wood Buffalo region right north of Fort McMurray and offers a unique base for the partnership by reducing downtime and travel costs for oil sands customers.

Fort McKay First Nation has already built a successful group of businesses in this area. The partnership with Savanna is the first to directly involve them in the operations side. Savanna has been operating partnerships with First Nations communities in Alberta for over ten years. One focus of these partnerships is community engagement. Leaders from both groups are keen to inform and engage community members.

The Fort McKay Savanna Energy Services Limited Partnership is 51% owned by Fort Mckay and 49% owned by Savanna. It offers drilling services, as well as well servicing and oilfield rentals.
