OMFG... I think I'm getting it. But I'd want the SNES version, and we seemingly can't choose (?)
ОтветитьIt’s so hilarious, watching you pretend to care about piracy and how you own the games
ОтветитьOne question, don't these temperatures of 77 degrees harm the console in the long term? Or are they within the normal range? How does the heat dissipation of this device work?
ОтветитьI can't wait to see the kinds of handhelds we have in another 12 months or two years.
ОтветитьI'm curious how about the temperature when playing a game in a long hour
ОтветитьThanks for this dedicated switch video! I was considering the 8GB Odin 2 for GC, PS2, PSP, and Wii but when I saw that Switch was an option, I started to consider the other models. From these benchmarks, it looks like the 8GB should be enough (with some Z exceptions), other than those you mentioned, am I wrong in thinking that the 8GB version should be enough?
ОтветитьSea of Stars works great. It's your driver that's the issue. Default driver will boot the game.
RedMagic 8s (SD 8 Gen 2 + 24GB RAM)
So Odin pro can run link and super Mario also?
ОтветитьSwitch emulation still suck I have a i9 9900k and a 2080 rtx and still have fps drop, lags and slow down
ОтветитьIt would be really cool to do a complete emulation setup video for this device, just like the one you made for the Retroid consoles. I think that this is a special one, and not just because I picked one also a couple of hours ago 😂. In my opinion, the only thing that it lacks, is a higher refresh rate screen.
ОтветитьTo avoid Nintendo lawsuit, I torrent directly from their Nintendo shop
ОтветитьA device that costs like switch can emulate switch. It is overkill
ОтветитьAUDIO?
ОтветитьUnless things have changed with Vita 3K, then the newest good MLB game we can emulate on Android is Sony's "MLB 11: The Show" for PS2 and PSP. Those rosters are well over a decade old. Apparently; MLB "encouraged" Sony to port their formerly exclusive series to Xbox and Switch in recent years. I don't own a Switch; but, I'm liking the idea of picking up a physical copy of last year's "The Show" for cheap (because I'm not a Pirate from Pittsburgh... Go Reds) and running it on the Odin 2. I'm not sure if it would run well or be like that game that can't be spoken.
ОтветитьThis looks pretty great, do you have any recommendations for managing game saves? I'd love to sync to a could service (ideally).
Ответитьi have one question
what is the name of the music in the intro ?
Very promising, maybe in 5 year from now, we will get a 8 gen 8 playing all switch game in docked mode with a beautiful 6 inch 2k oled display, but right now I'm keeping my switch lite
Ответитьwhen using daijisho is there a way to specify which emulator to use? Skyline for some games, yuzu for others
ОтветитьCan it do diablo mode though
ОтветитьAnyone know if controller support with a 2.4ghz support is a firmware issue and has anyone tested it with previous Ayn models? Would like to have this setup for gaming while on the road while hooked up to the TV via HDMI and a dock. Not a fan of bluetooth with the input lag.
Ответитьso..do i wait a year to get the odin 2? do i buy the regular odin pro now? or is the retroid pocket 3+ enough for hooking it up to a tv and play gamecube with my friends? or do i get the ayaneo pocket air which is less powerful than the odin 2 but has an oled display? but it's so expensive..dont know what to do :D
ОтветитьWhen’s the full odin2 review coming? I’m literally checking your channel everyday to see it drop
ОтветитьHey Russ! Is there a way of playing sega model 2 and 3 games on these devices?
Does Linux play it?
Honestly if I wanted to play Switch games its recent enough that I'll just use my Switch, but I am thoroughly impressed with the device's performance! Biggest I'll go is to the Gamecube/PS2, but it makes me giddy to think that I have all this extra headroom meaning that it'll probably handle anything I throw at it with relative ease (shader compilation slowdowns notwithstanding). Definitely going to get me one of these when I can spare the $500+AUD
Ответить@retrogamecorps Hey man. Was just looking at a vid from 10 months ago you did re 'Android Update for RG353' devices. People in comments saying that update now bricks their machines. Just thought I'd let you know as you seem like a good guy who'd care about that. Cheers!
ОтветитьHey Russ, you are a lifesaver as always. Great in depth content, i really appreciate it. On some android phones, there is an option that you can select a portion of the internal storage to act as an additional ram. I wonder if this option is present in Odin 2, and if so, would it be beneficial to incerase the Switch performance of the base model that has 8 gb of ram. I am on the fence of ordering between the base and the pro, and the 75$ difference is a meaningful amount of money for my budget. 😅
Ответитьbrave to cover this topic, really informative and great to see innovation in the efforts of game preservation
ОтветитьHonestly i got the 8gb ram spec and i think for the catalog i play that will be more than enough.... i expected the ram usage to get close to 8gb in some games and that's ok i have a Nintendo switch if i want to play those games natively... more happy with this purchase after watching this. Great video russ as always!
ОтветитьI would really like to see (if possible) an updated Yuzu guide for the Steam Deck, that include some details of "that" game... :)
ОтветитьRegarding all these disclaimers about emulation, I think you should just pirate stuff.
Corporations are evil, they would fire all their employees and sell your mom if they could, just for profit.
Of course, if you can, you should definitely support small indie developers. (Love you, team cherry, I bought Hollow Knight 4 times)
Odin2 or Steam Deck for emulation and Indie gaming?
ОтветитьHi Russ can you do your favorite top 10 games on every console thanks. 😊
ОтветитьThe main issues with those is the screen ratio, you have to make choices for emulation 16/9 is king if you don't care about ds and 3ds because those 2 actually benefits of a 20:9 ratio and on a 5~6" display it makes the difference so right now I'm keeping my phone+kishiV1 combo not ready to put money to have a more ergonomic experience for that I have a chipped switch lite with a full 1tb microsd just a shame that the lite didn't came with an oled display
ОтветитьBro i needed this video thanks you
ОтветитьThis might be a dumb question but I have no clue about this type of stuff. But is there any hand held devices that come with games like def jam fight for ny or need for speed ? Besides from a psp
ОтветитьThis is such a great channel. Just good content, covers what I want to know about the devices, no trying to sell me garbage, no politics. Keep it up man.
ОтветитьThis is exactly why I ordered the Max version. The extra RAM might mean more playable Switch games!
ОтветитьWho is the 16gb version for?
ОтветитьHey Russ, just want to point out that legally speaking, it doesn't matter if you have the physical game but got the rom through "other means" that is still considered piracy...the only way you're not legally liable is if you actually extract the roms off of YOUR physical game(s)...this is the grey area many people get confused by. There are many articles covering this where they interviewed copywrite lawyers confirming this...
not to mention linus tech tips has a video on it where he showed how to actually extract a rom from a cartridge, (Not an easy thing to do).
Showing a physical game while getting the rom online simply serves as a "placebo effect", and if Nintendo really wanted to they could come after you (or anyone doing the same) anyway and force you to prove that you extracted those roms from your own games... that's IF they wanted to....
i just wanted to make that clear for others that think it's "ok as long as you have the physical game."
Can anyone explain why he don't trust the Nintendo eshop and bought the games phisically?
ОтветитьGod I fucking love your channel.
ОтветитьPlease do a review on winlator running on Odin 2
ОтветитьHey man, any chance you could include some remote play performance? I am looking to replace my SD with a lighter option and a better WiFi card (SD has WiFi5, it makes a difference when streaming on my ROG Ally compared to the SD)
ОтветитьReally wondering in which cases it it necessary to have more than 8gb op RAM since i'm planning to get the base model Odin 2
ОтветитьGreat video Russ, much needed for all enthusiasts! Have you already checked the possibility of using part of storage space as extra RAM in Odin 2, to make harder games run smoother maybe? It'll ve worthy for most of us getting an Odin 2 soon to see this extension in action.
ОтветитьAnyone mod their launch day switch to dump roms? I'm curious how hard the process is and if is safe to use it connected to wifi afterwards? I have a large switch library I'd love to back-up.
ОтветитьSo Handheld mode is 720p 30 FPS and docked 1080p 60FPS right? Can't you turn the resolution down to 720p in docked mode to maintain the 60 FPS ?
ОтветитьI will say that for Bowser's Fury, even in docked mode on the Switch, the game has significant slowdown at times when Bowser appears. Just something to keep in mind.
ОтветитьI can imagine Nintendo’s legal team fast-roping down from a helicopter to Retro Game Corps HQ imminently 😂
Ответить
