Clapton's two solos might be the best guitar work ever heard on a rock record.

my question is... can you just go down to the crossroads and check it out? i suck at guitar and have no intention of fame or being the best. i just want to say hello.

The greatest spontaneous jammers and improvisers of all time. Enough said. Some say they were just OTT and made their tracks go on too long to show off. I disagree with that, they were just naturals and had an unrivalled talent and passion for what they were doing.

I've been listening to the track for about 55 years now. The thing which still amazes me the most is how Clapton and Bruce so effortlessly and by musical communication only, shift back and forth between lead and rhythm on their instruments. I mean, how could you ever practice something like that?

After travelling round Europe by train and ferry for almost a month n 1974 with this running constantly through my mind I went into a record store in Amsterdam and DEMANDED that the owner play it. One of the best hard rock songs ever. Very different from the Robert Johnson original.

Clapton's best solo, it's just pure fire and brimstone, some of his vibrato on the bends are what made people want to get into guitar. Meanwhile Jack Bruce, beyond his time in tone and playing style, he's playing rhythm lead and bass all at once, he MADE the 3-piece happen. And Ginger Baker is pure talent and grit, funny enough, Baker's drumming is the key point to their later live albums.

เนื้อเพลง
ผลลัพธ์หลัก
I went down to the crossroads
Fell down on my knees
Down to the crossroads
Fell down on my knees
Asked the Lord above for mercy
Take me, if you please
I went down to the crossroads
Tried to flag a ride
Down to the crossroads
Tried to flag a ride
Nobody seemed to know me
Everybody passed me by
Well, I'm going down to Rosedale
Take my rider by my side
Going down to Rosedale
Take my rider by my side
You can still borrow a house, baby
On the riverside
Going down to Rosedale
Take my rider by my side
Going down to Rosedale
Take my rider by my side
You can still borrow a house, baby
On the riverside
You can run, you can run
Tell my friend boy Willie Brown
Run, you can run
Tell my friend boy Willie Brown
And I'm standing at the crossroads
Believe I'm sinking down

Talk about amazing musicians completely tight with one another, Clapton’s like I’m gonna solo, Jack Bruce was like, ok, I’ll will too yet keep the timing completely on point and end right when you end like 🤯
