Seem like an odd market. From my research the most sought after feature is does it look good.
To my my mind, everyone should be considered a none swimmer as you may be incapacitated in some way. And from the tests I've seen of buoyancy aids, almost all of them won't flip you on your back, will keep your face in the water, and won't save your life, whereas life jackets will almost always flip you on your back. No brainer to me, get a life jacket.
