Three years ago, this made me feel seen and less isolated. As we head into another winter, with more sub-variants, Her Majesty's words bolster my resolve, once again, to do my part to limit transmission of a virus that is still killing people. I am grateful that science has taught me what to do and that patience and determination will allow me to do it.

Well, one year after her death, I had to listen her speech again. Thank you for your service.

People gave a stuff back then. Now it's every person for themselves! Also yet again the UK will let the virus kill loads before acting on it. Yet again we are so screwed!

Coming upon the 1st anniversary of Her Majesty's death, I came here to hear her words, feel her presence, and remember that one can be true to their values and inspire the world. Not with flash, not with endless seeking attention and a need to be relevant, just to quietly stand still and be there for all.

I remember watching this during the midst of the pandemic, I've never had a reaction like this to a political figure before, but i actually remember crying by the end of her address
The words of one magnificent human being touched the heart of a lonely teen in Oregon, damn near all the way across the world

This was far and away the most encouraging and reassuring speech that I heard during the pandemic. She did not shy away from addressing the difficulty of the situation, but she used that to show just how courageously we can respond to it. And it was amazing to hear the Queen talk about her experience during WWII and use that to encourage our generation. It was precisely that perspective that gave the words "we will meet again" so much weight and impact.

I'm a Welsh independence republican but I was very sad when she died. She lived a life of duty and even though she lived in palaces etc, she never experienced the life she wanted.
