What years this is?

I remember meeting Tharoor one afternoon in The Statesman office in Chowringhee in Calcutta in the late '60s, perhaps, where I had gone to submit a political essay for The Junior Statesman, later known as JS. He was there for the same reason, too. We were both in our teens, and I had read quite a few of his writings by then. We did have a jolly good chitchat. And I still have the memory as he had a very attractive way of talking which had the same freshness one finds in his writings.
Tharoor certainly is a writer-politician-diplomat per excellence.
