the girl won bcuz she was more creative in her melody twists & ad libs that made the song her own. Her version wasn't karaoke-like or similar to the original. As a musician myself, it's not easy for an amateur to create an awesome different version from the original. I don't say that she's better than the original bcuz both versions weren amazing. The guy did great too by showcasing his powerful vocals. ✌🙂😊

Vocal techniques can be learned, so the girl has more room for improvement. While creativity cannot be learned overnight. ✌
