The top priority for preserving the oceans is preventing extreme atmospheric climate change. The hot air will heat the water, bleaching corals, releasing methane, and causing a wide variety of effects all over the world. Climate change effects the entire surface of the earth. We need to mitigate it by going electric and generating electricity with renewables which requires metals. If you cannot make tradeoffs, you cannot make decisions.

There's nothing 'green' about destroying the environment in order to populate the world with electric vehicles or other junk. It's just a poorly constructed lie by lobbying groups to help enrich companies who don't care what they do to the world for profit.
