I just got my device and tried it out but it have one big problem. The clamp is not holding the knives tight. No matter how hard I tighten the screw. The knife is always moving. I tried different knives with different thicknesses but always the same problem. Any advice?

Hi
Thank you for your good video, how long does this knife sharpener usually work? And after how long should it be replaced?

Hi guys. Looks like a great bit of kit. My question is... does the width of the blade affect the anxiety of the grind? Eg a large kitchen knife vs a small pocket knife. The edge of the pocket knife will be nearer the pivot causing the angle to be greater? What do you think? Thanks. Phil.
Edit - just found the answer on Q&A video!

Tips and Tricks? I just shelled out 55$ for a 3 stone precision system. Well, tomorrow I'm taking it back. If they argue I'm going to suggest that they get the genius that designed this fraudulent P.O.S. to come to my house and show my dumb ass how to make it work. I paid for a product. I followed the directions for using it; in 4 languages. Tips & Tricks? That crap is for Hillbilly Riggers. Good Bye, and GFL!!!!!

I work at a Bass Pro Shops and out of all the tools we have for sharpening customer knives, from traditional whetstones to belt grinders, I use the precision adjust every time. Safe, fast, easy to use, and it has given me incredibly sharp edges.

For cutting zip ties, the “toothy” edge should really be by the point of the knife, not back by the handle.

I have the worksharp I believe its the MK2 automatic with all the belts and it does a great job but I just cant seem to get the mirror edge and am only limited 2 a total of 2 angles I just picked this up today because of the price and versatility of the angles. I look forward to trying it out on the New Benchmade I also picked up today. I have one question about the precision adjust could I add something like Gunny Juice(diamond suspension compound 5 microns) to the ceramic stone to help get a more polished look?

my biggest issue thus far is the clamping rigidity and the angle adjuster moves during sharpening.... the plastic that holds the clamp is not ridged and it wobbles a lot during sharpening. I wish there was some kind of jam nut to keep the angle adjustment from happening while at it. so far this combined cost me about an hour to undo what happened before I noticed all of this working against me on two knives...i do have to say this is a pretty solid system and I have used and own about 4 other systems similar to this. if there was a wider heftier clamp for the bigger knives and the piece that holds the clamp was aluminum also and a jam nut this would be solid knife sharpening gold...as for now my elite I would give 4.2 gold stars out of 5

This wasn’t available when I purchased a guided system. I am considering buying one of these also. I use water as the manufacture of the diamond “ stones “ stated water will increase the life of the stones. I also use HoneRite Gold water additive as it eliminates rust. The HoneRite is very expensive but I sharpen planes and chisels as well as knives and one bottle looks like it will last my lifetime. No more rust on any of my diamond plates and stones.

Thanks for the tips now i just need more tips for angle. I can get any knife sharp enough to cut you from the reflection but i learned the hard way that shallower angles arent good for an edc knife because the edge tends to roll over when you start using it.

With co-planar sharpening systems (such wetstones), the more you grind "simetrically", the better. And you´ll keep the initial angle.
But in these "kind-of-axial" systems, the more material you grind "simetrically", the bigger is the increase of your chanfer angle...an I wrong?

I have one of these and LOVE it. One question though. What is the best way to clamp in a knife that has differing sizes along it's spine? A good example of this is my Benchmade Osborne 9400. The spine differs in sizing as you move down its length. I have had some issues getting it to clamp securely in the sharpening system

I liked the admission to deviate from suggested rules. Moving the base instead of body-arms seems natural. I would like more explanation of why back and forth is not as rewarding as one direction

informative video, thank you, do you have a resource that discusses pros and cons of different blade angles. As well how can you tell what angle your blade is ground at curranty. I am going to assume you lock in the blade and set the sharpener at say 21 degree and see if the sharpener is parallel to the sharpen edge
