Wowwww beautiful grinder 😁🤙
ОтветитьThis will be a strong niche grinder rival
ОтветитьThank you for this clear and complete essay. I have an NZ, but this one is also very interesting. I have a few questions since you invite them.
Are you going to make a comparison of this Eureka Mignon with the NZ?
Compared to a Eureka Mignon XL equipped with the Blow Up, advantages and disadvantages?
Concerning the 2nd question, the advantage is the timer on the XL (no more need to weigh each dose; as I keep the NZ anyway); but what about the retention on the XL equipped with the Blow up?
Thank you!
You can't really judge a grinder's dust or clumping until the burrs are properly seasoned. I RTD-ed my beans when my Niche Zero was new but after 6 months it settled down and is fine now. Going by the price on your website it looks like it is 50% more expensive than the Niche Zero. I have a hard time persuading people to spend more on grinders. Most baulk at the NZ's price label. Nice and quiet though and 65mm flats are tempting but I went from 65mm's (Macap) to the NZ's conical and it doesn't justify the price difference. Is that in part because you can only buy the NZ directly from Niche and not through a re-seller like yourselfs? Great video. Finally someone did a professional video review of it.
ОтветитьI would love the bellows on my existing Eureka
ОтветитьWhat's the difference between the classico & the silenzio apart from the notice reduction?
TIA
Do you know what Eureka did (if anything) to prevent super fines spreading through grinder internals when using blower? I’ve seen people mode other Mignons for single dosing and that “dust “ accumulation is the biggest issue with it.
ОтветитьThanks for reviewing! I am wondering if the wooden plate where the dosing cup sits on is the same size as an acaia lunar. Could you check that out? Of course I weigh my beans before grinding, but just interested to know it the acaia could sit there as well as I like to control the dose that comes out as well.
ОтветитьGreat break down - keep up the great work 👍🏼
ОтветитьIs this the EU version?
ОтветитьGreat video! Did you experience the grinder vibrating more than you would expect?
ОтветитьI don't know. I've seen it for over $1000. That's a lot of money for a bean grinder.
ОтветитьIf this grinder is not suitable for dark roasts, what single dose grinder would you suggest?
ОтветитьCan you elaborate on the dial setting for espresso? Is the range 2-5 mean 2 to 5 full spins clockwise, assuming the starting position O is at the farthest counter-clockwise position?
ОтветитьDoes the bellow fit on the old mignons? Looks better than the 3D printed
ОтветитьWhen they will become a respectful company, I might consider buying their products. Their initial dispatch date was 1st week of October 2021. And they still are not able to respect any of the 10 extensions. And of course do not reply to anything.
ОтветитьDoes the hopper and bellows have compatibility with other eureka Mignon grinders, particularly the Oro Mignon XL?. Great review!
ОтветитьI’ve never been a fan of the look of the niche. This grinder is beautiful.
ОтветитьYour can get retention down on this grinder by turning the machine back on after you've finished. The change in momentum knocks a bit of extra coffee out without resorting to RTD.
ОтветитьI actually just looked over the video title quite quickly and read "Eureka Omikron".
It really is time to end this pandemic, it's even messing with my wonderful imaginary coffee world now!
Get a DF64 for wayyyyy cheaper
ОтветитьHow would this compare with the Df64?
ОтветитьIf you're spending 1k usd you might as well go for the Lagom P64 for 500 extra that will last you significantly longer, does not need bellows, much better motor and build quality
ОтветитьReview or promotion ?
ОтветитьI have been enjoying my Niche for a year now , this looks interesting
ОтветитьI also just received this grinder but I am still having trouble grinding coarse coffee for pour over. I tried to loose the knob a lot but still not able to get consistency coarse grind. There are still lots of fine powder which makes the pour very slow.
ОтветитьI see the Niche in the background there, out of focus.
ОтветитьDefinitely FAST, but not as quiet as The Specialita was. Mine seems to have a (common?) issue where the chute gets too clogged up for the bellows to actually work, the coffee still comes out, but bellows does nothing.
Compared to the DF64 grinder, the Eureka burrs seem to be more similar to Conical burr style to me. It seems to work well with medium chocolately roasty coffees and milk drinks, but with light roasts the clarity is lower and flavours seem more blended together.
Hi Alternative Brewing and others,
Just wondering if you have some thoughts on comparing the grind quality of this Eureka SDG to a Eureka Specialita when used to single dose. Would you expect similar grind quality, and just a superior experience with the SDG or actually a difference in grind quality? If so, just wondering what exactly causes the difference?
Thanks!
will ssp burrs fit? and how would that impact the dial ?
ОтветитьNice overview! But what are the advantages of an electric grinder over a good hand grinder, which is, by essence, single-dose only? At home, grinding by hand coffee for a few coffees is even relaxing :-)
ОтветитьGreat video! Any chance you could make another video comparing to another single dose grinder?
ОтветитьThese guys have a great store, love the help they offer.
ОтветитьOnce you showed me the maintenance, I put in the order!!
ОтветитьGreat video. Thanks
ОтветитьHi! Great video but left me with two questions: you covered that it can do from Turkish to Cold Brew grind sizes but not how easy it is to regularly switch back and forth (once dialed in). So, for instance, if you know that 3.5 is one's espresso sweet spot and 27 is one's French Press, how repeatable are those settings? I've heard from Eureka owners of the Silenzia type (some who also modded for Single Dosing) that it would be a total nightmare to go back and forth and they wouldn't even consider it, given how little a change makes for a very different grind. Given this has a slightly different knob, I'd love to hear your thoughts (even if its in the upcoming video comparing to the current most popular Single Dosing Grinder, which I saw you said was on its way). It would be a great comparison since the Niche Zero is said to be amazingly easy to switch back and forth on and very repeatable.
The other question is regarding the comment about dark roasts doing better on conical burrs vs light to medium roasts on flat. Can you please elaborate and give some context on this? I really don't understand why that would be the case but I'd love to learn. I'm trying lighter roasts but can't quite find that flavor we love so much in dark roasts, which is what we do most (maybe because we like more milk/cream type drinks). Thanks so much! Any additional info you can share would be hugely appreciated!!
I have the Specialita. Just wondering if/when the single dose hopper and bellows will be available for it. I've heard rumors that it will be and they are listed as accessories on Eureka's website.
ОтветитьDoes the hopper throat the same size as the other Eureka Mignon grinders? I have a Specialita and would like to buy the Bellows hopper.
ОтветитьThis is such a well-made video. Just bought one last weekend, and still trying to figure out the perfect grind.
ОтветитьJust wondering how would one go about cleaning this? I bought this machine from you guys a couple month back and now it’s the time 😃
ОтветитьFYI: The bellows and the hopper are available to purchase separately. I have them on my spezialita and they are aweseome! :)
ОтветитьWhat’s a cleaner work flow. This or a eureka typical shape with single below attachment?
Is this easier to dial than silenZia?
Should look great next to a black Quick Mill Pippa!
ОтветитьOld video im sorry ive just purchased this grinder.
Im gathering you're using 10 as a value of one full rotation?
So 18 for aeropress would be round on to 0 then till 8 on the dial?
I've been very tempted by this. I only make 2-3 espressos a day usually and have an ECM Mechanika Slim VI Heritage on its way. Would you recommend this over say the Libra or Mignon XL. Also I see there has been an Oro Pro announced by Eureka as well as some other interesting models such as the Techo. Should I wait until they hit the shelves to decide? Thanks
ОтветитьIve seen complaints of coffee ending up in the table. Since it doesn’t take a portafilter, did you get a lot of coffee ground spillage??
ОтветитьI have a question regarding the grind size numbers you mentioned. Does 2 as the lower end of the espresso range mean, that you turn it all the way to the right until the end, and then turn 2 numbers on the adjustment wheel to the left?
ОтветитьTo zero it out the number for me has usually ended up on 2. So when you give their numbers for espresso is that 2-5 numbers past the zero point? I ask because I have have to use 8-9 on the dial to get it dialed in.
ОтветитьJUNE 2024 - STILL WAY TOO MUCH VIBRATION. I purchased this grinder new in Australia. I had read all about the first batch's vibration issues, and that they'd been resolved. Sadly, these ORO Single Dose units still have 3-4 times the vibration of Eureka's upright grinders, even vs the XL with same 65mm burr set. I was shocked and disappointed, so I drove to the distributor to compare the Eureka range. The vibrations on their display Single Dose were almost as bad as the one shipped to me. I believe it is a fundamental flaw with the 15 degree tilt of the motor.
ОтветитьPre Order & Secure the Eureka Oro Mignon Single Dose for Dispatch Late January 2022!
