I still think NMS is lacking. I have come back after 2 years and honestly its still the same bland game no offence. Until it gets pirates on foot, dungeons and caves to explore, huge structures on planets to also explore with monsters, kind of like Starfield - this game is just a boring educational story book.

I have 900 hrs in this game, I always give it a good go for a month straight. Then nothing keeps me.

Hard to see in the video but, it looks to me that there are just 3 empty spaces and the blurring looks to be a full picture blur. Meaning there is a one big picture really blurred out behind the thumbnails, and the they are just superimposed over the background picture. It just seems to be 3 empty spaces and not 3 blurred images. Either way, 3 empty spots could mean the same thing or it just could mean the thumbnail sizes were just not made big enough to cover the blurred area.

The middle tile... if you look at the shapes, specifically the concaved shape along the bottom, it resembles the shaping on the Worlds Pt 1 image. My guess is, the middle is Worlds Pt2.

Unless there are 3 updates left in total and then the game will be left behind for the new game

I think three more updates are left in No Man's Sky. After that, they'll probably switch to LNF

Hard to belive this game still has me coming back for 8 years. Missed a first few updates in the beginning having gotten locked up ( not my finest moment). Regardless, i still play and love NMS. This isnt even the same game in any way. I used to stop playing because it literally made me feel lonely. Hard to believe these days.

I cant believe that a small team like hello games can still push out huge free updates for no man's sky, even though they are hard at work and finishing the new game light no fire. Huge credit to them.

I would certainly expect worlds part 2 this year of course. If it comes out in Aug then you have 4 more months to get 2 minor updates...or...
You really just have 2 updates, split (in Peter Jackson bloat fashion) into Parts 1 and 2, where Part1 of each is the bulk of the update and Part2 is essentially some stuff they couldn't quite get ready for Part1 release. Effectively it's really more like a Part1 and a Part1.5.
That's what I would expect for the 2nd half of 2024: "Worlds" update, but split into a 70/30 ratio of 2 parts and then another large update, also split into 2 parts. Technically 4 updates, but really just a little Sean Murray marketing and promotional slight of hand.

No Mans Sky will always be updated.

As a designer I can tell you that these are just placeholders and the designer's quickest way to make mystery art was dupe, hueshift or invert. I doubt there's anything to be learned from the actual blurred images used, they're temporary. Also, these are more likely to be the last 3 planned major updates for the game EVER than squeezing 3 more within this year.

Can hello studios do what star citizen does? Have a gofundme kind of thing that makes users have a way to donate to them to continue NMS developlment. The game is too good to end.

I believe there's something to it. Hellogames have learned the lesson of not letting people getting hyped for nothing too well to let people spin it out of control. So if they don't announce a "Hah! Gotcha!" very soon, then most likely there is something to speculate on.

That middle blurred icon being red, I'd suspect something to do with Atlas. Interesting find for sure. Could it signify 4 parts to Worlds update? Sean only mentioned in a round about way that there would be a Worlds part 2, but didn't say that would be it? So hmmm? HYPE TRAIN!

All it means is that they likely have at least three more updates planned. It says nothing about the release date, because there’s no way they know the release date of all three updates if they’re making three at a time. Even if they have a tentative timeline, delays happen. Furthermore, the recolors of the blurred pictures are likely because they don’t have pictures and probably not even names for those updates yet. They likely just put them there as placeholders. Hello Games wants us to know that they’re working on three updates. Anything beyond that is absolutely wild speculation.

Worlds Part 2, Part 3, & Part 4?

I would love if the expeditions update does what borderlands 3 did and (once all the expeditions they're going to do are complete and before they sunset NMS and pivot development more to light no fire) the expedition update makes all expeditions and rewards available. ive played since launch but missed several expeditions due to life and not being able to play games at expedition release for whatever reason... it would be awesome to be able to get expedition 1 ratchet and clank looking ship and jetpack.

Are they really not going to continue updates slowly until the 10 year anniversary? That's only two more years of sparse content, as LnF will be taking the spotlight. They could bring a lot more LnF tech back to NMS to really put the cherry on top for the anniversary.

There is no point in doing all of this pointless detective work. Let's just wait and see.

Hahaha! It's not next to impossible to "unblur" an image, it IS impossible. Your computer has no algorithm or enough information to put those pixels back together after the image is destructively blurred, so that whole segment of the video is silly. Also I am surprised you don't entertain the idea that 'Worlds Part 2' is one of the blurred squares. Surely, the art for Part 2 probably isn't ready to be released, so it's completely reasonable to assume this.

Or maybe they didn't have any art for the next updates yet and he just hue shifted and blurred art from other updates so he could fill the spaces as placeholders...

Placeholder images. The promo materials is probably not even made yet, or they keep it secret as they know that even if they blurred it to show in this "leak", people would be dissecting it just likeyou did.

I hope one is a revamp of creatures on the planet so they act like they did on the e3 trailer. I wanna feel like I’m actually landing on an alien world and i’m stepping into their territory . Also bring back the filters used to change how systems and planets look. Miss that one.

The three tiles looked like blurry re-colored versions of “Expeditions”, “Sentinel”, and “Prisms”.

Might be updates related to these topics, and I'm speculating:

1) a return of all expeditions acessable at the Anomaly Space Station, maybe some update to multiplayer as well?

2) Updates to new star systems (i.e. the leaked purple star systems where there will be new planets that may have higher mountains and deeper seas. Maybe customizable sentinel ships / interceptors might come as well.

3) Overhaul to more textures and maybe update cave systems, also might introduce new mechanics on weathers, i.e. heavy rain may create temporary ponds?

All speculations judging from the color shapes of these three tiles, and referring to updates that had been added into the game in those respective “original tiles” updates 😂

I wonder if this means there are only 3 major updates left before Light No Fire is released and NMS will no longer have major updates after the release
