I remember being hyped as hell for the NX and I was one of those people that latched onto anything thinking that it could indicate the NX.

Switch is nothing more than a cheap chinese tablet being overpriced because it has the nintendo logo on it. But that's what nintendo is all about: they charge a ps5 price for a ps2 hardware

i remember watching all of this go down back then it was honestly pretty fun to watch

I think the Switch is a nearly perfect device. I think if it had the ability for higher graphics and a few other little things. It could have dominated the competition. I know a lot of people talk about joycon drift and other problems, but I have never experienced any of those things. Fingers crossed that the Switch 2 has fixed those problems and has some nicely competitive power. I would like to see the dock boost the power to allow for higher graphics in docked mode, without limiting what games can be played on the handheld. I don't expect to see them put out a switch that will beat out both XBox and PS, but it would be nice to see them in the same weight class. Either way I am optimistic for the Switch 2 that rumor has it is expected next year. My hopes are boosted graphic in docked mode, a joycon controller that has an extra battery and or charging capabilities in the box, a charging dock for a second set of joycons on the dock, and the joycons being a little thicker and more ergonomic. I don't think those are wildly out of the possibility.

Watching this just makes me wish Nintendo made a fully TV console with the power to actually run Pokemon properly...

The problem is Nintendo fans always wanted to be the most powerful console yet it never is and never will be. 3 consoles yet it's never been the most powerful unless u look at older consoles.

What would even be the point of trying to make a clone of the PS4 or Xbox, I get that more power is a good thing in itself but why would you even be a Nintendo fan if you're going to freak out when they do their own thing?

Especially as the gameplay returns you get for additional power continue to diminish and PCs continue to get better and cheaper.

Plus you have to consider there is a hell of a lot more market share in making a console more convenient than there is in making a console that can render each individual hair on the protagonist's head. Sure, hindsight is 20/20 and everything, but the idea of Nintendo needing to go for power above all else, or that that was somehow the lesson of the Wii U, is just so dumb on the face of it.

One major factor of Nintendo's success on NX announcement is that they rebranded/recolored their company again to color RED, a bright, bold, loud RED. The trademark Nintendo colors, and by that move along with the NX announcement trailer, it was over for the competition. The shift in tone and content (making it more adult-friendly too) made the NX trailer leading up to the release day of Nintendo Switch to be a worldwide success upto this day

This video perfectly summed up the phrase, "you just had to be there" moment (like in pop retrospect, Taylor Swift's reputation era). If you didn't lived up to the hype, strangeness & confusions happening around the NX, well, you just missed it. I would definitely say that the Nintendo Fusion/NX rumors leading up to the very 1st teaser trailer last 2016 was the most immersive I've ever been in an online gaming community. The discussion, although a bit far-fetched, added fire to the already burning hot topic at the time ALL THE TIME. "NX" will forever be an icon, a revolution, a testament, a legacy, THE most recognizable codename for a gaming console in all of history. Seeing the massive success of Nintendo Switch made me nostalgic of the times that during 2014-2016, NX was widely talked about than the WiiU (crazy, right?!). Anyways, thank you for the very informative video, it really brought me back in time

People hyping themselves up with rumors about super-powerful theoretical next gen Nintendo consoles are always amusing given its so antithetical to Nintendo's nigh-entire track record. Nintendo plainly states that they dont care about competing on raw performance time and time again yet people always want to believe in a completely standard power-focused console. Cant wait for the hubbub about the theoretical Switch Pro that has gone on and on forever to conclude

I'm still with Team AMD, I think the Switch could be based on a more advanced AMD chip.
