Alohaaaa. LOL is it heavy ? it's heavy as shit down here hurry up. LOL She so sweet to let you take the top. God bless u guys. Aloha my friends, God bless
ОтветитьHope the birth goes well!
ОтветитьMy brother never had enamel on his 1st set of teeth, the doctors put it down to a beam hitting my mother in the stomach when pregnant with him while helping Dad build our yacht the Sarina. So many good memories made on that yacht.
ОтветитьSo sorry. I could not get into this dinghy build at all.
ОтветитьGreat progress as always. Yes take a well deserved break. Thanks for all the work you put into your videos
ОтветитьWish the new dingy was going to be centered on the foredeck. I just cant see the need for that asymmetrical off kilter placement.
ОтветитьI worry...you were at the heavy end...my somewhat negative previous dingy comment was not negative as to beauty, sailing, and rowing functionality but to its gossamer build and ruggedness...suppose you're at anchor pacific paradise need to row/motor ashore what is the freeboard safety margin with two adults and say your three year old son...IMHO what about hard hull dingy for safety with the family...find a used old Whaler 11'Tender or inflatable that bounces off everything or a good winch on the "Battery" and an old 13' Whaler stripped to bare hull weight 300 ...and a 3.5 Tohatsu engine for all weighs 40lbs
ОтветитьTeam work makes the dream work ! Great job
ОтветитьThe dingy looks like a fun gadget. The doghouse and cockpit rearwards extension really makes this ship awesome.
ОтветитьWow. Only 1 thumb down and 4.6k thumbs up for this video :D (The normal ratio for high quality, non controversial videos is 1:100)
ОтветитьI guess for all the weather and usage it will see, the dinghy had to be coated, but it sure is a shame you'll no longer be able to see the beautiful woodgrain.
ОтветитьDinghy looks great on durocell see you in a fortnight
Ответить"we'll see you in a couple weeks"? ...for a really really fun project? as opposed to just a really fun project? Such a cliff hanger. Now I won't be able to sleep, hahah. Love the build Matt, ya'll are my favorite channel. Cheers from Santa Cruz
ОтветитьMatt, What is that blue tubing running above your head on the inside of your enclosure frame? Just curious… Thanks, John, Ontario, Canada…
ОтветитьAmazing dinghy! Good move to build one that you can sail, it’ll be very fast! We are thinking of building a Oughtred Sea Hen 9ft. That all we can fit unfortunately! You guys are lucky with your deck space! Cheers
ОтветитьLove your videos, thank you. Has anyone done an electric inboard motor for a dingy? With the advances in batteries, this might be a great solution.
ОтветитьSeems to me that you should plan on getting an electric motor. You might find yourself at anchorage with no wind and too far to row to your destination.
ОтветитьSpent many a Year there in the early seventies, sometimes weather ways i should have stayed. SE Ak though suits us fine though. You two ROCK.
ОтветитьMaybe I missed it, but can you explain why the dagger board is so off-centre? Is it just to reduce weight of having a separate case and thwarts etc for a centreboard?
ОтветитьThats a great dingy, I'm sure you will love it! I have a 10' puffin hard dingy on my Bristol 40 and would not trade it for anything great to row and sail and no outboard hassels
ОтветитьA week of binge watching and I'm all caught up! Amazing project that is coming along nicely. I'll bet you get to start on systems this winter.
ОтветитьWow bra not talked for some time
Me been bizzy but looking at your bost you have been bizzy sseell 😮
awesome progress, I must admit the dinghy build wasn't as exciting as Duracell is so I was really excited to see you back on the project.
Will miss you next week but looking forward to the week after and see what you have done
The shed looks great.
Good looking.
ОтветитьCan you put the link for the greenhouse tarp in the description plz. ? Seems like a great solution.
ОтветитьInject this into my veins!
ОтветитьI was worrying, really!
ОтветитьHey guys, Been following along with your videos for the last year or so. It started due to my obsession with watchin matt do fiberglass work, but I've found myself somehow attached to the project. Wanted to thank you for the great content and wish you luck on your other adventure (parenthood). My wife and I just had our first last year, its a weird and wonderful ride. Nothing like doing boat work with a baby monitor nearby... good luck, anyone with the patience and discipline to tackle what you have will do just fine as parents.

Nice episode Matt... But looking at Janneke pulling up the new dinghy in the stairs...
I was was just "wandering" untill she said "don't worry about me I'm fine"...
Then I fill so quiet !! 😅... just a French guy joking...!
It lloks so big on the deck... it looks like a real sailing boat on itself!! 😵
cool dinghy but I imagined your boat with a good motored inflatable instead of the sailing back to shore dinghy lol
ОтветитьThe dingy looks great, but what I'm really impressed with is how you pulled the tarp over the shed 😮😅👏
ОтветитьFinally this dinghy season is over and can continue with real build! I had skip whole 3 weeks.
ОтветитьIt just dawned on me your child will learn to sail on the dinghy, and when he is 6 or 7 he will be taking it around for spins in coves at some island in the French Polinesia, while you guys, and Le Paws, chill on the deck of Duracell, listening to bossa nova, drinking margheritas, or caipirinhas, and eating sashimi! ... : ⁰ )
ОтветитьSame dinghy kit as Alidino and Maya?
ОтветитьI can't remember whether i asked this before . But how does this work , one centerboard that is installed off center ? I'm used to sailing but i can't figure this out .
ОтветитьGreat, you took my Greenhouse plastic suggestion.
My nearly free tie-down technique is: place a golf ball sized, round rock under the corner of the plastic. In about 2" from the edges. I wrap it twice with bailing twine or small rope. This grabs the edges very well. Now you have tie-down locations wherever you want. Plus, just cut away when done & you've still got plastic without holes.
Go on, give it a go!

In my opinion using a roller to apply paint uses quite a bit more paint than using a sprayer does. You can adjust the volume on the spray gun so very little paint is put down. The boat is lookin great though man.
ОтветитьWe are all praying the birth will go according to plan and both will enjoy parenthood as well. The dinghy is marvelous, you'll spend many an evening sailing comfortably.
ОтветитьAloha- now that Matt is speaking so much more charismatically and comfortably on camera, it’s time to redo the intro voice over with more enthusiasm!
ОтветитьHi Matt. I just wanted to let you know I have come across a family that is from Port Townsend that you might probably know. The Sailing Ship is like yours and is known as Night Hawk. By the way Diggy looks Great.
ОтветитьWish I could remember which episode used "Sticky Goop" (2 years ago?) - some of my Irish Trad Seisiún players were interested in the story of its use with this great project.
I didn't think to record which/when that was. You've certainly used tons of sticky goop since then. You are the GlueMaestro of the shipwright community.
Inflatable deflate and don't recommend. Porta boat is an option
ОтветитьIs it the camera's eye causing us to see a pretty obvious transition between the added pieces on the stern, or is really that obvious to the naked eye?
ОтветитьLove it so much keep it up as always 💘
ОтветитьThe problem is Devil runs the world. He is lier and murderer. This is the reason why liers and murderers feel good while righteous persons are persecuted.
That's why we've got the Gospel about the God's kingdom. Jehovah would put everything in order. The dead will be resurected and we'll meet our beloved ones again! :-)
I think she meant to say pregnant woman… 😅😅😅. This thing is going to rip once in the water. ❤
