Great review thanks
ОтветитьI just bought one, love it . Came from a Golf R stage 1.
ОтветитьAn exceptional review and reviewer.
ОтветитьGoing through all your videos and I have to say you’re the perfect Porsche reviewer please continue uploading more Porsche content. Sincerely everyone
Ответитьthere is no hardtop
ОтветитьHow can you see the engine in this car?
ОтветитьThe biggest change to the Boxster was the 981 which introduced this architecture in late 2012, and was designed from the outset with 4 cylinder motors in mind. It replaced the 986/987 which were versions of the same chassis. The 718 is a facelift of the 981, which is why it looks so similar.
BTW, The particular 914 you picture does not have a 4 cylinder engine - it has a flat 8. 2 were built, this one being Piech's.
The most comprehensive review I’ve seen. Informative, well presented and professionally polished, retains a balanced and relatively impartial view.
ОтветитьYou failed to mention the 914 which won its division at Le Mans beating all of the 911 cars.
ОтветитьBecoming one of my go to motoring channels.
ОтветитьExcellent.
ОтветитьLike others also noticed, this video is 6 days old, but talks about options from years ago. One is the fuel tank size, for 1 maybe 2 years there has been no option on the car configuration to choose a fuel tank size. But, I will will say having just gotten a 718 GTS 3 months ago, that this video is otherwise informative to a potential 718 buyer. He does touch on some of the options, but not all, and who can since there are tons of options available and you can’t describe them all on one video unless it’s just about “options”. Good video otherwise and well done.
ОтветитьExcellent review. Thumbs up!
ОтветитьToyota gr86 is much much better value for money
ОтветитьQuestion is what’s not to like? Simple answer- Price Price Price! With minimal options you’re paying at least $80-$100k. Ignore the base entry price because you’ll never find one at that price and you can’t order one without several options. I find the Miata is the only new affordable small light fun roadster. A Boxster new, is very expensive and not more fun than a Miata. No question I like the Boxster but it’s too much money for me and most people. The Mustang convertible is another option but much larger and heavier. There nothing else out there right now that’s a fun light and nimble. New GT RF Miata is about $35k! A new base Boxster without fancy options is about $75k. Is it worth it? I guess if you’ve got the money it might be but I’m not so sure.
ОтветитьDon’t understand why this review from 2016 appears as a new upload? At least narrate re-uploaded in the titles plse
ОтветитьEngine note. That’s what’s not to like. I own the 981 and could have bought a 718 but for me it’s a weekend car so didn’t want the flat 4.
If you are not bothered by the engine then it’s arguably a better car.
The 718 GTS 4.0 with its N/A GT4 engine has taken the 718 to truly special. After owning 5 911’s, incl. 997 Turbo S, the 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 is my favourite Porsche drivers sports car - period - size, power, feel, sublime handling & rotation with an analogue interior. End of an era. Joyful.
ОтветитьHow old is this? 2016?
ОтветитьWhat a great review the 718 is a fantastic car comments on this engine are from the very Ill informed it’s a quick lovely sounding engine in either form.
981 & 982 are both excellent cars but the 718 982 is just a better car!
Your reviews are excellent. Thank you!
ОтветитьI have a 987, my first Porsche or anything like it and I've really had a smile on my face driving it in the year I've had it. So, id like to upgrade to something newer
Do I go for a flat 4 engine? It's more affordable than a 981, but will I end up with a boxster no one wants in a few years because of the engine?
